Paul Hohl

I have a 1998 Silverado and the airbag blinks 7 times then stays on. There are no codes and the system says everything is ok. Have checked voltage and resistance and everything matches what book says it should be. The wire going up the steering column to the airbag got crimped but has been repaired. Have the feeling the SDM16259685 thinks it was in an accident because of this broken wire. I have no way to check this and would like some feedback on how and where I could get another one.
