  1. Okay so I have been using this form to help me for years but I just now signed up because I'm having some serious problems with my 2009 Silverado 5.3 four-wheel drive. A couple months ago it started fluctuating on the voltage and occasionally would be completely dead when I tried to start it also occasionally while driving the door locks would go up and down. So I cleaned the ground to the battery and to the block and all that and it seemed to fix the worst of the problem. I noticed about a week ago that whenever the fan would come on the passenger low beam will go off daytime running light will still be on. Goes back off the light pops back on. But for good measure I bought a brand new OEM ground wire from the battery to the block you know all that. Installed it last night after the installation the first thing I noticed is the washer fluid was just spraying out of the windshield wipers the wipers weren't moving it was just pouring down the hood. So I just unplugged the windshield wiper motor. When I got back in the truck after doing that I noticed it was saying hood open, of course the hood wasn't open I checked this multiple times I don't know what to do the only thing I can figure is when I put the new OEM ground cable on I didn't install the battery current sensor correctly but I have no other idea than that. Any suggestions would be appreciated much and I'm sorry if this is not in the right place in the form I don't usually post on forms. Thank you in advance
