Recently, I brought my truck in for a tire rotation and oil change service and they had a software recall on 2018 GMC 2500HD Diesel (L5P). After installing the updated software, my fuel pump modular stop working and the Fuse Junction Block under the hood shorted causing all kinds of code. GMC dealership check it out and said I need to replace the Fuse Block part number 84303174 (My OEM fuse box shows 84303173 now replace with new part number 84303174). The truck is only 25k miles. A coincident or cause by a software update? I ask because I can't find any fuse block for this truck anywhere. They are all out of stock. It makes me wonder if other people have the same issue as I am. Prior to the software update, the truck run flawless without any signs of issues.
They are charging me $300 for the fuse box and 2.5 hours for the labor and tax added up to almost $800. I refuse the service, went home and took the fuse block out in 30 minutes to check it out. There are some burn marks on a lot of the fuse spokes. It doesn't make sense it took that many hours to replace the fuse box. Do they have to reprogram after replacing the box or something other than transferring the fuses to the new fuse block?
