  1. Well, I'm at a complete standstill. I was hoping to finish by this weekend but unfortunately, tomorrow I'm having heart surgery and have no idea when I'll get back at it, but I'll let you know when I do.
  2. Still working on it.
  3. Still working on it.
  4. Hey Brad12821, I'm in the progress of installing the Boost Power towing mirrors. I'd be lying if I said this install was easy. In fact, it's a lot of work but I move very slowly and take a lot of breaks and even a couple of naps. All I have left to do is put the truck back together and see if everything works. Actually, I'll be very surprised if they do work. The wiring was especially difficult for me because my eyes aren't what they used to be and I'm working with one hand. My right hand was in a cast and now in a brace and it's very painful to even use it. I'm right-handed and can't do s***t with my left so I had to stop frequently to ice my hand. I'm just too damn old to do this type of work and because this install is so involved it would have cost a small fortune to have someone do it. I'll let you know how it turns out.
  5. I wanted to start installing the Boost Auto towing mirrors but when I opened the box there was only the mirrors, no wiring harness', or parts, nothing but the mirrors. So, I called them, and they wanted pictures of whatever was in the box and the empty box itself. Then they realized that they forgot to include the wiring harness, the wireless control modules and whatever else I had ordered. So, now I'm waiting for those parts to arrive, and I checked the USPS tracking and they have not shipped yet! Damn it, I thought I'd have the mirrors installed by now. I think I'm going to start taking my truck apart, so I can be ready when the parts do arrive. All I can do now is install the mirrors and that is it until the other parts arrive. But I must say, their customer service was on the ball and agreed that they made a mistake right from the get-go. I just wish they would have overnighted the parts. But I guess, it is what it is.
  6. Well, wish me luck. Gonna start this install sometime next week. I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanks for a great writeup.
  7. Where is that write up for changing the dash speakers? I've looked but can't find it.
  8. Ditto. I'm going to wait until someone posts the install instructions and what speakers they use and then I'll go for it.
  9. I've heard that a lot of truck owners hate the Bose system, I agree. While I'm no expert, I didn't think that the stereo had enough bass. I finally changed the 2 front door speakers and I think it's much better, at least for me. But I'm old and don't play my music until the windows vibrate. I actually didn't think that the dash speakers did much at all to improve the sound. But, once again, I'm old, and don't usually blast the music. I'll be watching for your write up. If the dash speakers really make a difference, then maybe I'll try that also. I agree, for what these trucks cost, they should have a premium sound system. Good luck
  10. Do you mind if I ask how much that cover was?
  11. I like that the AMP steps are 6" wide, but I chose the 2-step application.
  12. Do you know if this can be done on a 2022 Sierra 1500?
  13. I have these on my truck and love them. I just installed them so I cannot say how well they will hold up in the NY winters. Here: Aries® - 3.3" ActionTrac™ Retractable Black Running Boards (carid.com)
  14. Boy, wouldn't that spoil your day. In the first and third photos it looks like a full-size camper on short bed truck. I'm surprised at the 2nd photo but maybe with that large camper and the trailer in tow was just too much for that dually. In all cases, the trucks were just overloaded! As 64BAwagon said, "IMHO these people got exactly what they asked for, I have no sympathy for them. "Stupid is as stupid does".
  15. Damn, I just painted my red tow hooks gloss black!
  16. You could also try this cushion from Amazon: Amazon.com: Gel Seat Cushion for Long Sitting – Car Seat Cushion and Office Chair Cushion for Back, Sciatica, Coccyx, Tailbone Pain Relief – Wheelchair Cushion for Pressure Relief – Egg Seat Gaming Chair Cushion : Office Products
  17. You should try a 34x12R20lt, maybe that would work without any trimming.
  18. The tires are Toyo Open Country A/T III 35X12.50R17LT mounted on Icon Alloys Compression 17x8.5 +0mm wheels. Had to do quite a bit of trimming so I finally installed the Ready LIFT 1.75-Inch Front Leveling Kit with Tubular Control Arms and Bilstein 5100 Adjustable shocks up front and 5100 Bilstein shocks in the rear along with a 3” block replacing the 2” block. I've got 41.75" (up from 38.875") in front and 42.5" (up from 41") the rear. Actually, this raised the truck more than I wanted but I had to be sure that after I spent all this money that the rubbing was gone. My wife bitches every time she gets into it. In retrospect, the 35" tires were just too big! I just painted the calipers yesterday, so I haven't driven the truck since. Only time will tell. 19. Your truck looks great with that lift/level. I did almost the same thing on my 2022 AT4. Welcome to the club.
  20. I'm really thinking about doing this install. I've got a few other things on my to-do-list and then maybe by then I will have convinced myself that I can do it.
  21. I'd really like to do this install but it sure looks like a lot of work. I'm scared to death about removing the headliner. I did this years ago on a 1999 F350 but that was when I wore a younger man's clothes.

  24. I’m no expert but I’ve had 11 back operations, so I sort of know what I’m talking about. What works for me might not work for the next guy. It could be a sitting position and I can adjust my seat ever so slightly, forward, backward, tilt etc., you get the idea. What else helps is resting my left foot on dead peddle and using cruise control as much as possible thus allowing me to move my feet about and not continuously on the go peddle. What else really helped me was a wheelchair cushion. They are very thick and soft, exactly what a person in a wheelchair would need. I got mine from the VAMC and used it in my truck, sitting at the kitchen table (I had two) and even at the movies. For those who need more lumbar support there is a rolled-up cushion called the “Lumbar roll”. I used that everywhere, especially driving and at the movies. I drive a truck now because it’s so much easier getting “up” into the truck, rather than getting “down” into a car. I used to own a Corvette but had to get rid of it because it was hard to get into it and impossible to get out of it. I also found that "bucket seats" were more comfortable than "bench seats".
