  1. The last time it overheated yeah around 3000lbs with my utility trailer, the time before that probably around 6000lbs with my camper. Just frustrating that I will have to take my time, and fuel to show them the issue on a fourth trip. There's really only a few things that can cause this that I'm aware of; transmission lines, cooler blockage, thermostat and bypass valve. I've shown them pictures and videos of the truck overheating/giving warning to idle. I can't see what would change on a diagnostic front with them physically seeing the temperature gauge at 260F. They're going to look at it again tomorrow, we'll see how it goes. UPDATE: Today after a call to the service advisor, and then a lengthy email to the service manager I was told they are ordering "parts for the transmission". They're not sure if it's going to fix it, and they didn't want to throw parts at it with the hope of it getting fixed (which I appreciate) but the plan of not doing anything wasn't going to sit well with me. That being said, I'm not sure what specifically they ordered, so I'll be checking into that tomorrow. Whenever I have the new "parts" installed I'll clarify what they are, and if it fixed my issue. Edit 2: After some back and fourth with the dealer, they claim to have ordered the valve body. We'll see if this is the fix. Will update.
  2. Update: dealer looked at it today, said they couldn't find anything wrong (AGAIN). Asked when I was going to pick it up, I told them I don't want to take it back until they've found a solution. I have no interest in lying to these guys, I'm not sure why they're so hesitant to keep it and try to replicate the issue rather than spending 15 minutes on it, and shrugging their shoulders. I just want my truck to be reliable, it's got like 2000 miles on it lol
  3. Just for a further update for anyone else that has this issue and needs to deal with their dealership. The transmission overheated again yesterday towing my utility trailer on the highway. As expected, the 1 litre of fluid and a TCM update did nothing to solve my issue, so back to the dealership I go. Woohoo (sarcasm). And to boot, I'm pretty sure the truck is clunking in the rear, probably the famous loose U bolts on the leaf springs. I'll get them to look at that too. Whenever I get this resolved, I'll be sure to post my findings here so that hopefully it saves someone else some time rather than wasting time with these dealerships. It's ridiculous how bad the service can be at times.
  4. Thank you, I've sent the email. I will update this page with what kind of solution is provided.
  5. I think so too. I printed off that TSB and left it on the dash of my truck when I dropped it off last time, they clearly saw it because it's missing now lol. I'll check with another dealer and see if they can help out.
  6. Forgot my password so I quickly logged in with google. I totally agree. Just annoyed that my dealership didn't even consider my issue. I do have an IR sensor, and will definitely take some temperatures next weekend when I'm running the camper up the road again. Yesterday while pulling my 3000lb utility trailer it got up to 205 after about 25 minutes, and was continuing to go up but I got home so it stopped. I left it idling in the yard for a little while because the fans were running pretty hard on the front of the truck, it took over an hour to drop to 195 (fans were still running). Ah, we're probably 100M above sea level or so here? I mean there were certainly some hills along the highway, but nothing crazy by any means.
