I am sure my pickup would go for a long time without a catch can. Odds are no more or less than if i didnt add one.

It is interesting ( and i am no mechanic ) conflicting chat on such a thing as a catch can. One article sais it ONLY works when at idle. Well, mine all times, was start, let warm about a minute as mentioned about 25f hear, and off, a couple of stop signs thats it, so, that would be a lot of stuff from that short idle.

I will mention, that the one i installed goes from the pcv valve to the drivers side valve cover, replacing the plastic tube that did that. So, per say,,, it doesnt go into the intake there, just into the valve cover. The other side goes into the intake. Or comes from the intake, to, the valve cover.

I,,, for the heck of it, just ordered another catch can, same thing, to install/replace, on the other tube on the passengers side that goes from the valve cover to the intake, directly into the intake box, not through the filter box.

It will be interesting to see if it changes with the summer temps and summer fuel or not. Hear in the very upper MN area, its winter for a long time, fairly dry, and 10%-15% ethanol fuel, mostly. Hard to find non ethanol. Maybe the vapor wont condense in the can when its warm to hot out.
