Thankful to find this information. We drove the Chevy 1500 pulling a 19 ft Airstream into the mountains today. Slow speeds on payment due to curves etc. We were almost to our destination and the brakes got really stiff, scary at 10,000 feet and curvy roads. We did make it to the campsite moving very slow as I said it was scary. So my question is now what do we do? Is it save to drive it home downhill (yikes..... wish I was in a parking lot). I can town the camper home with a different car if needed but I have to find a way to get my truck back to town. If we go faster will the breaks work again? So against what I would do but curious. Would you would drive it or try to find a way to get is towed? Your thoughts would be appreciated.
