My 2021 Silverado 4WD started a single pop or thud noise just at full turns left or right at about 30K miles. The pop noise consistently happens as I back out my driveway up very slight grade and turn near full lock. The pop noise seems to have a pattern of happening on left side, then right side, then left side, as you can’t seem to make it happen two times in a row. It seems like something in the front suspension shifts one direction, then back on alternate LH or RH turns. The pop noise also happens on full lock turns Left or Right while moving forward and usually needs a light grade to make it happen. The pop or thud can be heard and felt. The vehicle must be moving and will not happen during full lock turns in park or when the vehicle is on a hoist. GM dealer investigated found nothing. Said noise was from hitting full lock stops during turns, that’s BS. Took it to retired mechanic in home shop and he too couldn’t find the source after checking multiple things out. Concerned my alignment toe might be impacted and cause wear on my tires.
Any advice on root cause?
