Sounds exactly like what is happening. Thanks for the link. I pulled the fuse as recommended and the truck waking up when approached has stopped. But the temp sensor still showed the last outdoor temp despite being parked inside a heated garage overnight. Does anyone know a) how long the truck has to be "asleep" for the exterior temp sensor to update and b) what module (is it the BCM?) that controls the exterior temp sensor display?

Thanks for the reply; truck stays unlocked in the garage, but the key is in the house (about 45' from the truck). Not sure if it is relevant, but we have another GM vehicle parked next to the Yukon (also with hands-free lift gate and push button start) and the keys are kept in the same drawer and it doesn't seem to have any issues.

Hi fellow GMC enthusiasts, Looking for some input / direction on my 2022 Yukon XL Denali (6.2L). Drove it 2 days ago and parked in the garage. Started it yesterday and the dash lit up with a variety of warnings: Service Transmission, Service Traction Control, Collision Avoidance Unavailable, etc. Then it started to say the battery was low. I shut it off and used a different vehicle to commute. Last night when I started the truck it wouldn't turn over. After two attempts a low battery warning showed up again on the dash. I've had it on a battery charger since and haven't attempted to restart just yet. I'm curious if anyone has suggestions or experience on what could be causing this? One thread loosely related suggested it could require a BCM reprogram / calibration. I'd like to be more educated before I go back to the dealer, as I've read horror stories on this forum of the dealer chasing issues for weeks or months without resolution. Few other notes: I've had one other instance of a low battery warning; the truck still started and I drove it long enough to recharge. Since that low battery notification (not sure if it is related or I just started noticing) that the outside ambient temperature displayed on the infotainment screen never 'resets' after a drive, despite being in a warm garage for at least 12 (but often 24+) hours. For example, if when I return to the garage it is -20c outside, I park the truck inside where it is 17c, leave it for say 23 hours, get back in and the temperature display still says -20c. From what I've read - but I'd love to confirm - that seems to be because the various modules haven't gone to sleep for long enough for the truck to reset the exterior temp? After that instance the Dealer performed Recall N242435631, which says it also addresses battery drain. I've noticed that when I approach the truck without the key it seems to "wake up" and start making noises in / around the engine compartment. This morning those sounds seem to be coming from around the right front wheel area; I'm curious if this is the source of the issue, as our family regularly is in the garage between the time the truck is parked and the next time it is driven. Could it be that the truck keeps "waking up" and never sleeps, thus draining the battery and preventing the temperature read out from resetting? Is there a proximity sensor / feature that "wakes" the truck up without the key? Only thing I can think of is the rear hatch hands free sensor. A few years ago while driving we did get an alert to roll the driver window down and back up... do all of these issues scream electrical gremlins? Or is there something else I could suggest the dealer look at? Loose ground strap, for example? Any and all feedback or suggestions are greatly appreciated. I want to sleep soundly at night, but I fear there are some electrical gremlins in this era of truck that might make it a nuisance to live with long term.
