  1. Hello, 2012 Silverado 1500 4x4 manual says to check trans fluid at "normal operating temperature" between 165F-200F. I see this as two differant temperature ranges? Normal operating Temps for me is more in the range of 120F-150F. I could run my truck in 2nd gear and leave it running in idle untill the temp goes up to 170F but that is not normal operating Temps for me especially during winter month in the northeast. Should the fluid level be at the Temps that I operate my vehicle or should the level be at a temperature that l only reach on the rare occasion that I'm pulling a heavy load up a grade. Thanks for any response. P.S. Adds on this site are brutal
  2. Thanks for the reply. I do have a 2012 Silverado and will use the appropriate section in the future. I quess what is throwing me off is the "normal operating temp" for me is not 160-200F. At least not in the winter up here in the northeast.
  3. Hello, my question has to do with transmission fluid level check. (2012 Silverado 1500) Manual says check at normal operating temp between 170-200F. Problem is my normal operating temp is between 120-140F. Should I check temp at my normal operating temp OR try to get the temp up to 170F before checking?
