  1. Two years later and still have this problem. It shows 120 rpm when cranking. Block heater plugged in all night and scanner said coolant at 5C and IAT -25C. I think all this is for fuel management and not ignition spark though. The last thing I tried was swapping around the starter and ignition relay but made no difference. Keep trying it as long as the battery holds out and suddenly it starts perfectly. What else is in the ignition circuit? Thanks.
  2. I have never watched the tach while crankkng but will sure start. As for crank sensor; does it make sense that disconnecting and reconnecting the battery would smarten it up? I have yet to see a crank sensor code. Problem is truck starts fine until -30 when I’m trying to get to work so not the best time for troubleshooting. And I leave before the sun comes up so would be even more fun. Was just hoping that someone had the same problem and new exactly where to direct me. Thanks for the replys.
  3. Hi people, I have a question for you please. 2000 Silverado 5.3L. At -30°C(-22°F) after being plugged in all night the truck will crank over good with 60 psi fuel pressure but has no spark. Disconnect the negative battery cable for 30 seconds then re-connect and it'll start right up after about 2 revolutions. I have replaced the PCM with another used one but same problem exists. Thanks for any suggestions.
