Finally some satisfaction, The dealer called me yesterday, said they are going to change the pistons, rings and not sure what else. After the 4th oil consumption test in past 3 years, at 1800 kms down over a liter of oil this test, ( every oil test done engine was consuming oil and they brushed it off as normal, 5-7k oil barely touching dip stick) Is there anything I should get them to change besides this or ask?? 2011 Gmc Sierra SLT 5.3 lt aluminum block have 92,000 km on it. All I can say what a piece of junk.

2011 Sierra SLT 5.3, same issues as everyone else. Had many oil consumption tests done, so I called GM to complain. They called the dealer to inquire and dealer says falls with in 3200 km guidelines, then between 5-7k oil change barely touching dip stick and getting worse with every oil change. I told the lady I'm not the only one as sites filled with people having same issues. Well they should be telling their dealers the problems, Really? Most dealers brush them off as they did with me saying its normal. I asked her where my oil is going? no reply! There is an issue maybe compensate the people with problems not sweep it under the carpet. So frustrated at this point paying all that money for never ending issues. Then the dealer says come on down we can get you in a new Denali, we just need $40 k and your truck. just makes you laugh. Been a loyal gm guy buying new vehicles every 3-5 years but I'm done with gm.

I have a 2011 Sierra 1500 Slt 5.3, having oil issues at about 45,000km(@28,000 miles) . Dealer put in a deflector and decarbonized pistons, after next oil change 8700 km @5400 miles oil is down to the 3rd dot on dipstick. dealer said that is about a quart, and said that is within its limits. just wondering down to 3 dot on stick wondering how much oil that really was. ( I wanted to show dealer how much it was down before adding any) Noticed this oil change so far at 2,800 kms down to first dot on dip stick. aluminum block Like This
