  1. Ya , very well could be. id Be asking again. I was the orginator iof this thread and after mine first blew I thought it would be fine with a replacement part. About 8-9 months after the replacement line was installed I got a recall letter saying they would replace the defective line again. I asked service manager and they replaced it with the same line that was from the faulty place to begin with so it could of happened again.you assume the new peice they put on wont be defective again. Always been a gm guy but these new 19-20 trucks are something special. At least my dealership was good with the constant breakdowns and giving me a loaner.
  2. And your dealer is waiting for the new oil line and taking 5 months?
  3. This has been happening to me for the last 5 days on a 2019 trail boss with 65000 kms. I leave my truck with fob in hand and about 10mins later it gives me 3-5 quick honks, like super quick. No idea why it’s doing it. Leave key fob in house, go out to investigate, trucks locked, no lights on dash like something is on. Yesterday morning I started the truck, went to back up Out of the driveway for work and my steering wheel was locked. Cycled off, on. Still locked. Another cycle, same thing.... locked. No lights on dash, nothing, Everything else was normal. Came home after work, started it and it was normal again. Had steering. No idea. Hate this truck
  4. I have 64000kms on my 19 trailboss. Never had an issue with this System at all. Went to dealer for something different and they did the brake recall. Now truck has all the lights on, engine power reduced, service ecs, check engine, abs lights.
  5. hi, I’m the original person who started this thread, was just at my dealer for an oil change and they told me there’s a recall on my truck for these oil cooler lines for a different design. Even though they put a new one on after my original one failed they said this one could fail too cause it’s the same hose.
  6. Sounds like the same thing that was happening with mine. Been 4000kms since the ecm was replaced. Hasn’t missed a beat yet. They replace the foot pedal the first time, made 100kms and all the lights came back on.
  7. Just wondering if GM fixed this problem or is anyone still having this problem with the cooler lines.
  8. I know this is a little different but I was having trouble with “service esc” “engine power reduced”. I also lost brakes with 150kms on the truck back in oct 2018. Never happened again. Now have 53990kms on it. Anyway, dealer put a new throttle position sensor in my truck, clear codes, all was good for a whopping 100kms. Back it went into shop, they replaced ecm and all has been good since the change out. Wonder if the ecm is causing these other problems too?
  9. It’s the electronic parking brake doing a cycle
  10. Hey, got my oil sample back from a 3rd party after this oil cooling line blew all the oil out of the engine and it came back good no traces of any metal.? Good peice of mind to have after this incident. If this happened to you I’d recommend getting your oil tested too. Cheap to do for reasurance
  11. Not an oil leak, engine burning oil now because of the oil line failure and blew all the oil out. Read the thread.
  12. Just got my oil changed since the incident with the oil cooler line. My oil % on dash was at 18% at time of oil change. I was keeping an eye on oil level as well. It was down maybe a litre. No signs of burning oil. They took the oil filter and oil from the oil change and getting a 3rd party oil analysis done as per my request. Should hear something something next week.
  13. Why don’t u just list it on this thread the one everyone is reading
  14. They are not rubbing. Both hose are wide open into a cooler. A crimp doesn’t let go due to rubbing. It’s pressure that’s causes they hose to blow out of the crimp. Have seen it lots in heavy machinery that run huge psi in hose but not 40 like these engines do
  15. Look at very first few pics of the thread It’s even circled. Bottom of radiator is where a cooler is located.
  16. No recall that I’m aware of. Pretty sure they will when gm see’s all the engines loosing oil and people having to stop abruptly on roads
  17. I’d like to note I have put on 4500kms since the hose failure as well.
  18. Hi, truck is running fine. Had a different engine noise on a cold start one morning when it was below zero other then that it’s been doing fine. Still going to do an oil analysis. Going to drop some oil out personally and then take it to dealer to see what they say when they do there on the next oil change. I don’t trust them.
  19. It’s a crimp. No way of telling if it’s weak or not
  20. Got the truck back this am, truck was gone for a week. New hose was put on and filled it with oil and they gave it back. We are going to take an oil sample here before next oil change to see if any filings are present and go from there. There is currently no strange noises coming from engine. Engine temp is normal. I will monitor engine oil ussage as well to see if it’s burning oil. Good luck with your truck. Terrible feeling
  21. Truck went to dealer today. The failed part (. Oil cooler line ) is 7-10 days away and is coming from the states. Once the hose is on they will diagnose the engine
  22. Ya I would agree there’s a good chance there is damage to the engine. Interested to see what happens. It goes the dealership tomorrow
