  1. You can put any rear in there that fits. You have 3.23 gears, even a gu6 with 3.42s will work or even a gt4 with 3.73 will work. I’d go with what’s cheaper and could work. Or open up yourself and see what’s wrong with it. You will just have to get your truck programmed with the correct gear ratio for the ecu.
  2. Even better as I have hptuners also and it's only $100 to unlock it and do stuff like that. Xskier, why did you to 4.11s?
  3. I thinking of going 3.73 in my 10. Guess I may have this issue also
  4. It's a 2wd so I'm good on that
  5. Sounds like what I may do. I may put the 3.73s in it for more grunt as that's an easier swap.
  6. I just need the truck as a daily driver etc.. It's more a work truck beater Don't really need any high performance out of it.
  7. Yes it is dbw, but I'd only use the long block setup for the swap. I Dont think 4.8 sell for anything at all, even if its a complete swap. We can all use more torque in a truck. I paid $550 for this complete swap, just missing the starter only.
  8. Good points.... So the current 4.8 in the truck doesn't have any issues I can see or tell. Runs good, starts good and has good over all power it seems. Has 176k miles but doesn't feel like it does. I do have an 04 5.3 complete swap with everything. We were going to swap it into another vehicle. It was just a thought. Either sell it or swap it into the truck. It had under 100k when pulled. Well now idk what to do, let it sit for a rainy day or sell it.
  9. Thinking of swapping engines out on my 01 truck. Engine is an 04 5.3 so no issues with anything long block wise. I know the PCM would need a 5.3 tune for the swap also. I know going to a 6.0 would be great but the 6.0 I have is going into my 69 Camaro. So has anyone swapped from a 4.8 to a 5.3? Was it worth it?
  10. I wonder if my old one has it still as I'm going to buy a whole new lid as its broken.
