  1. i know they use the fuse for the roof beacon. but i will never install a roof beacon so can i buy the homelink buttons and add them in place of the roof beacon switch?
  2. im going to hook up my DIC buttons again and look again.
  3. that is what we are trying to get this one to do. it is turned off at the factory for specialty vehicle. we want to get it turned on. just trying to figure out if this is a dealership thing or not.
  4. ok the SSV is deliberately coded out due to stealth operation in police work. he is using the vehicle for personal use so he would like it to flash and honk when he locks it. now today i took the DIC buttons out of my silverado and pulled the dash panel off the tahoe and was easily hooked up and running. i went through all the options and there was nothing about lights and horn at lock. so i think this is coded out in the computer.
  5. it's a 2013 without DIC. i need to also find the buttons and panel to add that in.
  6. Technically for a Tahoe but can this fearure be turned on and off through programming? My buddy just got an SSV Tahoe and it doesn't do the lights and horn when you lock it. He would like it to.
  7. so far 12k miles after new parts and all seems well.
  8. just curious, do we have to use the GT 280 connector or will a small female spade connector work? like the ones used for the smaller port of a speaker connection?
  9. well 5k miles since the work at the dealer and i did the oil change. i checked the level before starting and it was just a hair below the bottom of the hash area (not surprised since the filter backed off and dripped some oil out about 1500 miles ago). i am happy with the way the truck is now.
  10. 4k miles since piston/ring/lifter fix and no oil light.
  11. 250 miles since piston/ring fix and doing well except for a scare today. i was at a buddy's house yesterday and he called me and asked if i was leaking oil (all over his driveway). i checked and sure enough i was. under closer inspection, it turns out the oil filter was barely snug and leaking. i cleaned it off with a little brake clean and turned it on tight. i will have to check the oil after warming it up tomorrow but i think all is still well and no oil light on yet.
  12. i just picked mine up on tuesday after having the pistons rings and lifters replaced (all under warranty and at 89k miles). so far i have put a little over 300 miles on the truck so far and it feels great. time shall tell if the "fix" worked.
  13. mine is having the pistons, rings and lifters replaced now. i have 89k miles on the truck.
  14. i had that done on mine last year (deflector and flush) worked for a little while and now i just made an appointment today to get the truck back in for consumption again. i drop her off tomorrow.
  15. that looks like a 1500. and what kind of car do you tow in that trailer? i have to go pick up a buddy's 69 camaro with an enclosed trailer in the next month or so and was curious to know how that handles?
