  1. Drove from Orlando to Columbus, MS. Fun times. :-)
  2. Got a uhaul trailer to help my friend's gf move. Loaded that trailer up, we'll load the truck up early AM when he gets off duty. I also didn't feel like driving 10+ hours to MS with the truck shaking from out of balanced tires, so I got them balanced which means if I'm lucky 2 hours of balanced tires and 18+ with them not. Hopefully I can move later tonight when it cools down and at least clean the windows and headlights off. Think I hurt my back so who knows.
  3. Drove down to the Tampa Bay area to do some night fishing on the skyway pier or whatever it's called. Beautiful night out, just no fish yet. Well my buddy is catching bait fish so there's that.
  4. Drove myself and 2 buddies to Port Canaveral and went fishing at Jetty Park Pier. Another nice night like it was last weekend when we went to Sebastian Inlet. Had a brisk wind all night/early morning. We had the entire pier to ourselves. Apparently there's a tropical storm over Florida right now, might explain the empty pier and why we only caught a couple small sharks and other fish. About to head out to the range and pull some RSO duty. I wonder how flooded it is out there, might leave early if I get tired of sitting out in the rain, or if I think the beast is going to just sink and get stuck if I go off our little road anywhere.
  5. Yeah I guess with the lugs/rim sticking out like that it's a pretty dead give away, didn't think about that. So many little things with a dually. Oh well only a year and half or so and I'll go back to a 6.0, just need to wait for the extended warranty to run out on this beast. The silence drives me nuts, but I'm not about to modify anything on this and risk voiding the warranty.
  6. What's really odd is looking at the picture again, I can't see the duals. At that angle the truck looks like a SRW..
  7. "oh look a deer!" slam on brakes. Oh good no one rear ended me
  8. Short 200 mile round trip to go fishing last minute last night instead of today. My buddy told me to just bring my poles, meanwhile all his stuff is locked in his storage unit that closed for the night. So us two and 2 of his friends jumped in my truck for a nice drive to the coast. Spent probably close to 2 hours trying to cast net for bait. Then because we had very few weights we couldn't weigh our rigs down against the tide. Stopped at steak N shake on the way home and buddy finds the extra weights we were looking for in his back pockets... At least we caught a couple fish and we all had a good time. On the bright side I cracked 15.1 mpg according to the DIC. Not to shabby seeing as how the truck either had 1000+ lbs of wheel weights in the bed, 4 people, or city driving on this tank.
  9. I legitimately tried to fit in the spot but was hanging over on both sides and don't trust some a-hat not to slam their door in my thin sheet metal. Plus as always I parked away from the entrance. Fat butt life for me.
  10. Finally got off my butt and took out all the wheel weights that have been in there for a few weeks now. Had enough in there to bring the back end 1.5" at the center of the wheel well. After I eat I'm going to pull the clothes dryer out enough for me to get behind it and pull the panel off. It doesn't want to heat anymore, hopefully it's something simple like the thermal fuse.
  11. Hiding from the sun under a nice tree.
  12. Went to wal-mart for random stuff. Then harbor freight so I could pick up another set of 6 ton jack stands since they were on sale and 25% off coupon brought them down to what I bought the first set for. Now I can make the beast float! Found the receipt for the 4 ton HF jack, next month will be 5 years it's been lifting our trucks. Cheap crap indeed....
  13. Nothing. When grandma was alive it was hard for her to step up into her '06 2500 (she was around 4' 10") because the running boards hug the cab so much, so dad took some metal blocks, drilled holes in them, and dropped the running boards down and moved them out so grandma could actually get her feet on the running boards instead of just her toes. I didn't need that when I took over the '06 so dad took them off and put them on his '09. I'm just too lazy to take the blocks out. I think there's a spare set of blocks somewhere, or at least one or two in the garage somewhere. I think the blocks make the back half stick out more so dad could stand on the boards and reach into the tool box. If that's not what you're talking about then I have no clue.
  14. Did a half turd wash job on the beast yesterday. Need to redo the passenger side, I let the soap sit too long, windows look like crap. At least it's somewhat cleaner than it was though. Also added some plastic stuff to the headlights so they don't yellow again. Need to remember to do that every month.
  15. Yeah we don't have winters here, we do however have hurricanes. That structure did get damaged in the last one we had, not major damage but a couple panels got bent up/came off if I remember right. Property actually has way more problems with vandals tagging the place, might sit down there one night and hope to scare the crap out of the punks doing it. Yeah going back and forth is a pain but I made sure they had 2 5 gallon buckets before I made the order. Would have went back if I'd had to though I can get to that autozone going through my neighborhood the long way. Worth it to save $70 total, pretty much a free 5 gallon bucket of oil.
  16. The beast is getting an oil change. Only took a 90 point turn to get it on the lift lol. I don't understand why stores don't match their online price. So instead I stood in autozone and ordered online for store pickup to save $20 on 10 gallons of oil. Just need to do the rebate to save another $50 and I'll be set.
  17. Was within an grand or two depending on how the condition rating I used. Considering 3/4 of the driver's side has been repainted and the driver's door shell has been replaced 10k was a fair offer. I'm not buying a new truck just yet so trading in/selling both of my trucks wasn't what I was looking to do. Carmax was hassle free, no dealing with craigslist, random people, low ball offers, or waiting around hoping to get x amount of $$ for my truck.
  18. Any particular oil and weight or just whatever's on sale at the time? Which filter do yo prefer as well.
  19. Sold my 2006 to carmax. Easy and no hassle affair. I miss that noise maker already. Driving my 09 all over the place running errands, bank, dmv, insurance, and now at urgent care. Insurance for the 09 is going up $80 since I lost the multifaceted discount. Time to start shopping for insurance.
  20. Came across a stranded motorist on the way home from work towed them out of the turning lane and into a cvs parking lot. Had to use the chain instead of one of the two tow straps I have, they wouldn't fit apparently. Doesn't bother me any, just jerks them more.
  21. My buddy finally came over a month or so ago and replaced the ballasts in 2 of the lights in my garage. The ballasts had been bad for years, dad and I would flip the switches on and off for minutes sometimes. Still amazes me now flipping the switches and the lights come on instantly. I was going to put LEDs in and buddy said it was a waste of money and I'd get more light with new ballasts and the right bulbs. That part of your garage looks clean, I'm jealous.
  22. I like the 50°. Congrats only 250k more.
  23. Guy came back and cleaned Obnoxious today. Cleared headlights too. She's purdy.
  24. Got the beast cleaned yesterday. Obnoxious there in the background gets cleaned Saturday. Of course it rains today though...
  25. Dirty but still looks good.
