  1. I don't even hear any noise though. So I'm not sure it is a bearing issue. Just what TK said. Said that's why it gets all screwy over bumps. I've just been dealing with it thinking I just suck at driving haha. Something is probably wrong I just don't know what. Sent from my Find7 using Tapatalk
  2. Went back to tire kingdom and had them check the balance. Tech took it for a road test beforehand and said feels like a front bearing I'd going bad. Think he said front left. They quoted me $693.42 for that. So I guess I'll see if my buddy wants to tackle that. Do people replace both fronts or just the one that's bad? Sent from my Find7 using Tapatalk
  3. Thanks I'll look into it. Sent from my Find7 using Tapatalk *edit* So this is what I need then? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TEFM0GY/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
  4. Went out to my truck to check something for my buddy. Passenger door lock acting up again where it won't lock/unlock. Checked what I needed to for my buddy then proceeded to play with the door. So what did I do with my truck? I found out the alarm works even if the door doesn't lock like the rest of the truck. I think I went deaf for a couple seconds and almost scared the poop out of me. Yay obnoxiously loud air horns. Buddy didn't find it funny though. At least he was on the other side of the truck getting into his car and not right next to where the horns mount lol. Maybe I'll pull the door apart and check the wiring today. I can lock/unlock it manually moving the lock but it doesn't work electrically. Randomly does this every now and then I just don't pay much attention since I rarely have passengers.
  5. I've posted from the website a few times but honestly anymore I'll upload the picture on my phone and then just edit the post and write whatever I wanted to write on my PC. I never remember how to do the posting from the website when I need it.
  6. Easiest way is tapatalk. Sent from my Find7 using Tapatalk
  7. That reminds me I need to contact them and see whats going on with my rebate. Sent it in over 9 weeks ago and still nothing, doesn't even show on the website. Got the confirmation email after doing it online but nothing since. I want my $50
  8. Got off work and my buddy and I did a quick inspection of my truck in the parking lot, then did a road test. We've concluded that the tires are most likely the reason I have shakes/shimmies while driving. Some of the tires have bulges on the sidewalls. Left front is probably the worst. So now I get to see how and if I can get them warrantied by Michelin. Also stopped by my rental property and had them double check the tires real quick and took a better look at the bay doors I'm going to need to replace. Also dropped off my 12T jack stands at storage to get them out of the garage since they are too tall to use easily on my truck. In about an hour or so I'll be driving to the other side of town to go to a baby shower.
  9. Had my neighbor come over and look at my front end with me. Only thing he recommended was cranking the torsion bar on the passenger side to raise it up 1/4" to make it level with the driver's side. Is the steering wheel supposed to lock, mine doesn't. I know my 2500HDs locked with the key out.
  10. Shorter wheel base will make you "feel" the trailer behind you. That's a small trailer so maybe you just have unrealistic expectations of what the 6.0 is supposed to do? GM doesn't build them to win races, I know I couldn't beat civics with any of my 2500HDs. Put your foot into it more if it feels sluggish. We've had 5 6.0s since 99 when they were introduced and except for the 2001 1500HD all towed the travel trailers just fine. Only reason the 1500HD wasn't cutting it was the rear end. 2002 2500HD with 6.0 and 4.10 rear end towed exact same trailer night and day better than the 1500HD. 7k-9k trailers over the years. As mentioned previously a lot of people are afraid to put their foot into it and let the engine wind out. It won't hurt a thing, let it rev. Good luck, hope you get things figured out.
  11. Took my truck to the tire shop the other day had them unmount the tires and I scooped the balancing beads out. Then they mounted and balanced them. Truck rides better but still not good enough. I can deal with stiff suspension but out of balance and shimmy I can't. Watched some YouTube videos yesterday and talked to a coworker last night. Came home and jacked the truck up. I can love the front tires side to side but not up and down. I guess it's time to replace some parts. I'll get my neighbor to come over and confirm since I'm mechanically dumb. If something is bad the hopefully that'll take care of the front end problems I feel, then I can move on to the back end. Sent from my Find7 using Tapatalk
  12. Saturday added another 2oz bag to each tire. Still not balancing out, guess it's back to the wheel weights. As far as I can tell rims and shocks are fine. Sunday tossed a kayak into the back of my truck and went to Wekiwa Springs with some co-workers. Out of the 10+ that were supposed to go only 5 showed up on time and we didn't wait for the rest. Was a nice over cast day. Saw some little gators too.
  13. So does my right foot, now I leave 4 marks instead of 2 though. I think I was above 60k on my '06 2500HD with Michelin M/S tires. They were needing to be replaced so I sold the truck :-p Not really, just didn't need 2 trucks. My grandfather used to troll the crap out of people when he and grandma got new trucks. Someone would ask him why he got a new truck "old one needed new wiper blades." I never wonder where I get my smart ass from. I guess I need to send Michelin another message. Sent them one last weekend asking for an inflation table/chart for my tires and I haven't received a response yet. Door says 65 and 60 for stock tires. I'm running 60 and 50 until I put a load in it and then I'll air up to door specs.
  14. I'm hoping I can come close to shake/shimmy free. First experience with beads. Nothing else I know they have great customer service. I just get tired of having to get my tires balanced so often. I highly doubt I'll get 120k out of these Michelin Defenders. I didn't get anywhere near that with my previous 2500's tires and they were lighter trucks than this fatty. Sent from my Find7 using Tapatalk
  15. I exchanged emails with Counteract and the seller I bought the Counteract balancing beads from last week since my tires didn't balance out. A+ for customer support from both companies, they must have ended up communicating with each other and decided to send me some more beads. I was sent 12 2oz bags at no cost to me so that was nice. Put in an additional 2oz in each of my tires this morning, this puts me at 8oz total each. Took a short test drive and it's noticeably better but I'll run some more miles and see how it works out. If not then I've got another set of 2oz bags to put in each tire. I also cleaned the door windows and truck mirrors while I waited for 7am to come around so I could run my compressor with out completely pissing off my neighbors.
  16. New leather from Simply Rugged came in and an icky plastic from High Noon. The retention on the revolver is a bit loose, but I don't plan on being upside down anyway. Plus there are ways to fix that. New leather is always nice. Sent from my Find7 using Tapatalk
  17. Yesterday I finally washed my truck. On the way to work last night I stopped to assist a guy broke down on the road. He was trying to push the jeep off the road and a motorcyclist had stopped to help as well but they couldn't get it over the curb. Since I'm too lazy and wasn't about to try pushing I just hooked the tow strap off and pulled him over the curb and off the road. While sitting at the light I watch some idiot almost hit them because he/she most likely wasn't paying a damn bit of attention. Idiot had all the time in the world to scan the intersection area while waiting for the light to change to make a left but I guess thats driving and paying attention stuff is just too much effort. I was going to clean the windows on the truck when I got home from work this morning, I didn't. Instead I removed the old suction cup disc/base and put a larger one on so my phone mount hopefully won't fall off.
  18. Problem is phone makers and probably automakers (haven't looked into auto side of android yet) ruin android by putting their garbage skins/overlays and crap on top of stock android to differentiate themselves from the competition.
  19. Took the zip ties off and put the replacement tailgate clip thing in, replaced both since I had both and the tailgate apart. Kept the old one as a spare just in case. Retorqued the wheels and adjusted air pressure. I think I might have to add more balancing beads or something, the balance issue got worse. Maybe one day soon I'll wash my truck.
  20. I don't think I've ever seen a vehicle in the runaway truck ramps. I've only been east coast mountains so that might be why too.
  21. Lol. Its only $7 for both clips. Apparently those thing breaking is pretty common but I can't remember any of our tailgates breaking before. I guess the ties being out of the sun would last a decent amount of time too. Sent from my Find7 using Tapatalk
  22. Zip tie tech tip of the day. 2 zip ties works for a temporary fix until replacement clip(s) come in. Good thing because It'll make loading and unloading the bed at the range tomorrow morning easier. Sent from my Find7 using Tapatalk
  23. Yesterday I put balancing beads in the tires and torque the wheels down. Surprising how much faster it goes when you fully read the instructions for the beads. Just got back from Harbor Freight and now my tailgate doesn't want to open. Worked 2 miles ago putting the fan into the back. Off to youtube I go!
  24. The LED "pods" I put as auxiliary/backup lights fortunately don't do that, not enough to bother me at least. Maybe it's because they are under the bumper instead of the reverse bulbs being switched out.
  25. Finally got around to removing the cheap LED fender marker lights I put in that have been flickering for a couple weeks. Went back to the old filament T10 bulbs I had in a drawer until I find decent LEDs and start replacing all my bulbs.
