  1. Jumped my buddy's patrol car. He thinks his battery is screwed and he's also afraid they're going to decommission his car early since it's been having so many problems. Which would be bad for him because the county doesn't have a new Explorer ready for him. Pool cars haha sucker. I guess hell find out soon since he's taking it in today.
  2. You and I agree. There have been numerous discussions on the lack of push button start and peoples opinions of it on this forum. No one really convinces the other "side." Common thing to see is "I didn't think I'd like it..." I've used a variation of keyless start at work but on package cars it makes sense and saves tons of time over the course of a day. Sucks when the fob falls off and into the road while driving though lol. Personally I like keys one more defensive tool if I'm forced to not be allowed more effective tools. Plus keys are simple.
  3. Yep error here as well on the video. Horns are nice, I don't know what who made the set that dad put on the dually but it works well. Tank is too small at only 1.5 gallons. With the compressor only rated at 25% duty cycle it surprisingly is still working. Buddy and I will be installing a Viair compressor(s) and 5 gallon tank(s) eventually. The horns are hidden under the cab on the rear passenger side, makes it fun to scare my back seat passengers sitting right on top of them. Some people don't care for them, everyone has an option. While driving some drivers don't care how loud your horn is they still won't get out of the passing lane. It is nice to have a stupid loud car truck alarm though. Panic button is fun when your friends are hanging around your truck too.
  4. Well there went almost $300 towards holsters today. Thanks for bringing up Simply Rugged 3 more of their holsters on the way...:-D
  5. Another vote for Simply Rugged. Have their pancake for my 44 mag Redhawk and it carries just fine on my belt (even better with suspenders lol) or with the chesty puller set up.
  6. Sunday finally got my old bed out of my garage and down to a coworkers cousin's place. Yesterday went to autozone to pick up 10 gallons of 15w-40. Today had my oil changed. Just need to do the Mobil rebate so I can get my $50 back again this year.
  7. Come on GM bring back the big block so I don't have to go to ford or get stuck in a diesel for my next truck. Or bump the torque on the 6.0 and tow rating by 2k
  8. Truck hit 60k on the way to work last night. Thing is barely broken in, but I do wonder what's going to break/go bad next though.
  9. Fueled it up on the way home from work early Saturday morning then my friend and I loaded up 2 of my desks so he and his wife could have actual desks. Drove them down to his house and unloaded them. Went to other friends house and attempted to help him work on his foxbody. Finally got around to taking the front tie down things out of the bed rail pockets and moved the toolbox up flush against the front of the bed. Gained 4-6 inches of bed length back. This morning I loaded 2 recliners into the back of the truck to bring to the same friend that I gave the desks to yesterday. Now working on other friends foxbody again. Maybe I should keep them back there... Racing seat got put in the drivers side yesterday. Today my shotgun seat got put in. Good thing since I didn't want to sit on a crate for the rocky mountain race week we'll be going out to. Other stuff got done yesterday and will get done today.
  10. Helped my brother in law put 4 new speakers in his reg cab truck. Might as well do something useful while I'm up here in NJ. I think next we're going to get his tractor thing set up for the 5-10" of snow they're predicted to get over night.
  11. Noticed I have a headlight out. Which annoys me seeing as how I just replaced both headlights in August not even 10k and one went out. This is why I replaced both last time when only 1 was out, I don't want to spend 1-2 hours tearing half the front end apart to replace a stupid bulb! I guess this time I'll pull the battery.
  12. I don't have a HOA so I'm good there. Also I really shouldn't have been lazy and have it sitting out in plain view like that. Only annoyed that they cite me yet the guy around the corner has been running a repair shop out of his garage for years. Rental houses go months without mowing the grass. I'm surprised the neighbor hasn't called in noise complaints about my across the street neighbor. Or my dad and I when we both had 2500 6Ls with glass packs.
  13. Pretty sure the nosey neighbor called code enforcement on me so they staked a notice in my yard about the carpet and carpet pad I had along the side of my driveway. Pulled it out of the room Friday been too busy, sick, or lazy to do anything with it. Can't cut it up and put it in the trash cans as we have the county supplied ones that get picked up by the arm and dumped. Can is already full so I was thinking about cutting it up and putting it in little by little. Guess now I'll have to go to the dump and get a couple nails/screws in my tires. Wanted to weigh my truck anyway. Wonder how long it'll take me to get around to actually going to the dump.
  14. Florida is getting that way...If you like them feel free to take a few thousand of those roach motels back to yanktown with you :-p
  15. Went to home depot to pick up some wood flooring and related stuff. Picked up paint supplies and spackle, tomorrow I'll pick up paint. Buddy and I somewhat decided we are going to use my truck to tow his crapstain to the races when we go to Colorado in July since the dmax will handle elevation better than his F150 and be more stable. Then again he has the ecoboost so maybe elevation is a non issue. We also heated up some metal on the car trailer and banged it/cinched it back straight. Redid some welds on the trailer as well. Now mother nature is currently pressure washing my truck with the down pour and 60+ mph wind gusts. Maybe I should go out there and toss some soap on it. Probably be speared by stupid palm tree debris though, I hate those stupid useless "trees" with a passion.
  16. Stopped at the dealer to see if my seat motors, 3rd brake light, and seat cushion were covered by my extended warranty. Looks like they will be, now I just need to wait until I get kicked off the road and back into building work so I have time during the day to bring it to the dealer twice. They did have a nice D-Max dually sitting there though. Not often I see duallies at that dealer, this one was a Chevy. I want to say it was a 2017 but don't quote me on it. I know the door sticker said it was built 10/16 and window sticker price was $64k. Maybe I should have made an off the wall offer of $58k including trade in. Most likely I'm just going to wait and hope for a bigger gas engine in the near future. I think I'd rather tow 14k with my '09 even being 1k over spec vs getting a 6.0 and being 300lbs over spec. In the mean time working seat motors, non cracked and leaking 3rd brake light, and a new seat cushion will be nice.
  17. Old school power too. The amount of hours my dad and neighbor put into that truck. Sadly dad didn't get to see it through to "completion."
  18. Essentially gift wrapped the boat. Tarp I bought was a good 10+ft longer than it needed to be and just wide enough to cover the boat down to the trailer. Should help protect it from the elements until I'm not working 5 or 6 days and 60 hour weeks. Hopefully we start getting some stuff done again near the end of January. Did other random shopping and driving. Was hoping I could last on this tank of fuel until the new year when I start getting 5% cash back on gas stations but I don't know if I can make it until then with just below half a tank now. Was going to have my buddy install resistors for the rear dome LED lights except the darn things didn't flicker when I put them in this time, that crap annoys me. Also was looking at bulb sizes for the 3rd brake light/cargo light and that housing is cracked and leaking on one side. I guess now I need to get that replaced before I bother looking into switching bulbs. Swapped out a flickering LED light on the fender markers. Going to be ordering a 5 gallon air tank and compressor to replace my current set up on the truck. 1.5 gallon tank runs out of air too quick and I want to go to a higher duty rated compressor as well. Threw in a couple pictures of my neighbor's purdy truck.
  19. lol my buddy and I went to Del Taco tonight too! Only thing that sucked was the lobby was closed so I was forced to use the drive thru. Also I think only 2 people were working so the wait was quite a bit. Even if I did have a sardine can I'd still hate going through a drive thru, I just don't like being boxed in like that. 98% of the time I get off my fat butt and walk into the lobby.
  20. Buddy and I drove up to our other friend's place and pulled the running boards off his brand new Forerunner. That thing is pretty dang nice, took us longer to set up in the dark than it did to actually pull the boards off. Then we spent time admiring the under side how all the seams are sealed and things are painted. Nice interior too. Stupid push button start though, took me a minute to figure out how to get that thing started. Always fun "stealing" someone's car when they're at work. Would have been an easier job in the garage vs a vacant parking lot but he still hasn't figured out how to get the keypad for his garage door to work and he keeps the garage door opener in his patrol car. The way the rear seats fold down on it is pretty neat, those running boards fit nicely back there. There's even a compartment for the jack and a sliding thingie in the rear. Too bad it's tiny, doesn't have a v8, and won't tow what I need it to tow. I might have put it in the list of possible future vehicles. Tomorrow we're going to put the tarp on the boat, go to a bait shop, and then walmart for a couple of those foot long fishing poles. Then fishing!
  21. Didn't conceal it today since I'm just in my garage/driveway, have before though. Suspenders and a good belt work wonders if I did conceal this more often.
  22. Been out here in the garage/driveway messing with my new melter. Definitely going to need a thermometer to stick in the pot. Also turned it down too low and the flame went out a couple times. Zoned out so who knows how long it was doing nothing. Way too many zinc and iron wheel weights compared to my last melt a couple years ago. Probably tossed half a bucket in that pot so far and it's still not full.
  23. I've been doing this for a few years now. I don't think it works well with the dually now though. Then again I have aux lights in the rear, great success turning those on and getting the turd muffin behind me to turn their brights off. :-D
  24. Thankfully most of the population is oblivious. Also you're lucky and live in an actual OC state. I need to start wearing pants again so I can go back to CC'n my wheelies.
  25. I've seen chunks of metal damaged, anything plastic is child's play.
