  1. thats good yours does it 100% of the time though, then it can be fixed, its the intermittent that driving me nuts. i dont care there is the issue, things happen i just want to be able to get it fixed
  2. thats aprox where min started as well.... I think if i have a load on it it does it every time after im a few min into my trive. I think i might hook up to my boat drive it some until it starts doing it then go right to the dealer with the boat hooked up to it and have a tech drive it
  3. i did not fix it.. it still was ticking away like a sewing machine this weekend towing my boat
  4. so far it has been perfect, but it has not been hot here to duplicate results. its a bit louder on start up and for like 0 to 5 mph but performance is the same and fuel econ is the same as when the valve was active
  5. Ok.. putting some trouble shooting logic to this this morning (i am a mechanical engineer and worked as a technician all through college). Not sure about others but when mine is in ticking mode it def feels a bit doggy compared to normal. There is no doubt in my mind its an exhaust tick, i have had a gmt800 and 900 with broken exhaust mani bolts, i know that sound like the back of my hand! So with that said if you take the two issues, loss of power and the ticking, i see signs pointing to an exhaust restriction. I think that the exhaust flapper is sticking closed or partially closed (i have no idea how sealed the closed position is) . At this point i think i am going to wire the valve open and see if it eliminates the issue, i have a strong feeling it will.
  6. Anyone have anything new on this? Mine was awful this weekend but it has made me realize it will do it all the time if its over 85 deg out. Sadly my dealer is not open on weekends
  7. ok, the truck wont do this all the time it does it about 65% of the time in 4cyl mode, if it would do it all the time i would just take it to the dealer, on the driver side bank when in V4 mode under all conditions although loudest under max load in v4 before switching to v8 i have a ticking you can hear in the cab with the raido on at a low volume. the best way to describe it is how a truck sounds with a broken exhause manifold bolt. i checked, all the bolts are intact and tight, i threw a wrench on them. has anyone had the same issue? i dont want to wast time at the dealer for them to say they cant replicate the issue. when it is ticking and it switched to v8 if you are listening closely you can still hear it its just much quieter. Note this is not injector noise, the truck has 13k on it it started around 11k
  8. just like a diesel, there is a lift pump and a high pressure mechanical pump driven off the cam shaft where the distrubuter would be on an old small block
  9. i know MTBE is not legal in new youk anymore for on road or off road fuel, i used to run race gas in my 250f back on 04 and the formula had to be changed to be MTBE free in NY
  10. i thought that but is there even winter gas anymore now that everything is e10? a friend and i were just wondering this
  11. i have 2700 miles, i was consistantly between 19 and 22 from sept till mid november, then the cold weather hit.. from between 12 deg and 35deg F, between the additional warm up and i would assume a richer map when its that cold and dry im now in the 15-19 range, not a huge deal just all part of winter time
