  1. Hello, I have a MacBook Air 11.6 that I am looking to sell. This was my first MacBook and I am just more of a PC guy. It will be cleared and returned to factory settings prior to sell. Everything works as it should, just want a PC (Windows) for my Masters program. Asking $600. Located in Saint Louis. Shipping would be around $20 I believe for USPS flat rate boxes. I will post some pictures later. Let me know if you have any questions. This is a link to the Mac details from Apple's website... http://www.apple.com/shop/product/FJVM2LL/A/refurbished-116-inch-macbook-air-16ghz-dual-core-intel-core-i5
  2. I'm looking for a replacement ECM for my 1998 Corvette. The part is only good for the 97 and 98 model years. Changes were apparently made for model years 99 and newer. Delco part number if useful is: 19332289 or 16238212. This part has proven much more difficult to find than I anticipated. If you or anyone you know own one, please let me know. I'd love to get my car back on the road!
  3. 2000 Suburban 5.3L. I'm having problems with the injector circuit for cylinder 3 in my car. I removed the connector on the injector and verified that it's getting power (constant 12V when key in ON position and 14V when engine is running). When a test light was put on the ground terminal it illuminated but didn't pulse. When I looked at the voltage though, it was bouncing all over between 0 and 14V. I turned the car off and noticed the ground terminal had 1.7 kOhms resistance to ground when the engine is off. Thought that was funny as it shouldn't be connected to ground when the car is off and if there was a short, the resistance should be 0. I traced the wiring and didn't see anything wrong. I then found a diagram for the ECM connectors, located the terminal for the cylinder 3 injector (ironically terminal #3) and found the same 1.7 kOhm resistance to ground at this terminal. This was the terminal on the actual ECM not the wiring harness. 1. Is this sufficient evidence that the ECM is bad? 2. Can I just go to a junkyard and pull an ECM out of another 2000 Suburban with the 5.3L and put it into my car with no problems? 3. If not, does anybody have experience with flashmastersecm.com? Judging from ebay, they look reputable.
  4. Hello. I had problems with my heated seat and had to change the Master Door Window switch on the driver side. when i took the old switch out the the door chime was working. after a few moments it stopped working. the next day i got the new switch and installed it and the only thing it would turn on was the driver window. Locks didnt work from that door, passenger windows dont work from that door. i unhooked the battery for a few moments to see if it would fix it. Now im getting warning on my screen as in, service 4 wheel drive, service tire monitoring system, hood open (even though its closed) My seat wont move on the driver side.Blinkers dont work, Break lights stay on. i can turn the key on and the lights will come on but the switch to turn them off and to parking dont work they just stay on. Fog lights dont work. FOB key wont work. I have no clue what happened. anyone have any guidance on this? 2011 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ 5.3L V8 Crew Cab

  6. Hello everyone, I just bought this used 06 Duramax 2500hd crew cab. So the guy that had this truck before me put a screw through the harness going through the driver door towards the bottom that runs all the lock/unlock door open windows etc. Etc. The window controls on the driver side work, but not the door lock/unlock. The passenger lock/unlock works, and driver rear door power lock does not work at all.. the guy that put the system in re-spliced the wires but it's still not working. He thinks either the control module got semi-fried, or the buttons in the door got semi-fried because he said lock/windows/and mirror controls are all one unit with it's own little computer. If anyone has any tips on how to trouble shoot this I would be very appreciative, and also any idea on where to get a newer looking driver door interior panel because all the clips to hold the bottom it were broken off and replaced with, you guessed it, a screw! It's the tan interior, other that that the thing looks almost new. Thank you in advance for the help!!
  7. 2002 chevy silverado 2500hd 6.0 truck randomly dies no rough idle, no lights, no error codes. Truck won't start up right after it dies but if I let it sit it will start up fine anyone else have similar issues or have any ideas and what it could be?
  8. I did a search on here for replacing the engine computer and was surprised for not finding much ! We have an 05 Silverado with a 5.3 in it. The other evening, my wife went to see a friend and when it began to storm, she decided to leave. She went out and the truck was dead, no click, no crank. I went to get her and tried to jump start it (while it was still storming) and arcs came off of the negative terminal when the cable touched it. I stopped and decided to disconnect the battery till morning. Next day I go over there and reconnect the battery and the engine fans start running with no key in the ignition (probable reason why the battery arced the night before)! Battery voltage was down to under 11 volts so I took it to get checked since it was 5 years old. Got a new one, connected it, the truck fired up, and all seemed well. Took the truck home, parked it and 2 hours later I go to leave in it and the engine fans are running again ! When I drove away, I got about a mile from the house and the check engine light started flashing. Codes that came up were P0300 and P0480, random misfire and engine cooling fan code error. So..... I checked what I could, but then on Monday took it to an automotive electrical guy. He ran his diagnostics and while it was there, the fans came on by themselves again with no key on. He check his schematics, ran his checks and suspects the computer has some kind of fault. He said to get a salvage computer and he would re-flash it for my VIN. I checked around and found one local, but also looked online and came across "All Computer Resources" in Miami FL that sells reprogramed ECM / ECU / PCM automotive computers. I wasn't sure what to do, so called another electrical repair guy for another opinion. He said it could well be the computer, but would run his own checks before just replacing it. He was adamant about not using a salvage or reconditioned computer. Said he has been there, done that, and will now ONLY install new OEM replacement GM computers and flash them. Anybody out there have good or bad luck with a reconditioned computer ? Any thoughts or suggestions ?
  9. Good morning, everyone! I'm new to the board but I hope to frequent it pretty often instead of being one of those one and done posters. So, here's my situation: My 2000 Silverado 1500 z71 transmission is getting pretty tired (215,xxx miles) and I've picked up a wrecked donor 2004 Silverado 1500 with a rebuilt transmission that I know to be functioning well. Both have the 5.3L with the 4l60e trans. I'm looking to swap the engine and transmission from the 2004 into the 2000 - my thought is everything will bolt up properly due to not much changing between 99 and 06. My concern is can I use the pcm from my 2000 on this newer engine that we're putting in or will it require a new wiring harness and pcm? Are there any other things I should be concerned about? Thanks for your time! Reyn
  10. Hello again Truck masters, I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 extended cab, 4.8L V8, standard transmission. I recently ordered a keyless remote replacement for my truck to replace an old one that broke (had it clipped to my jeans while sawing up trees in LA during hurricane gustav a few years back, and it was water damaged and smashed moving logs). I held on to it anyway the past few years (the old one). Anyway, the new one I ordered is identical to the old one, same numbers, FCC ID, etc. I went online and found some instructions for programming it. The normal: hold unlock, ON, OFF, ON, OFF, release unlock--the locks cycle--hold down the keyless remote unlock and lock buttons simultaneously for 15-60 seconds until locks cycle... Well it didn't work, the locks cycle fine and enter into programming mode, but when I hold down the remote buttons simultaneously nothing happens. I called tech support (the people who I bought the keyless remote from) and followed the steps with them on the phone. The tech asked me to put it into programming mode and then to turn the key to the ON and OFF position to see if the program would exit properly by cycling the locks again, and this doesn't happen. He explained to me that the truck would enter programming mode but would immediately exit (or crash) and that this problem seemed to be pretty common on blazers of this year too. I asked him if I should go ahead and buy a new keyless receiver module and he said no, get it checked out by the dealership. So here is what I have done so far: - I tested and replace the keyless remote battery, made sure it read 3.0-3.3v (so it's not the remote battery) - I took the remote to Autozone and tested it on one of their signal testers - the remote works perfectly - I disconnected my truck battery for 10 minutes, reconnected it, and tried it again (no luck) - Went to a junkyard and found an identical keyless receiver module and replaced the one in my truck (no luck) - Tested to see what happens without a keyless receiver module--truck doesn't enter programming mode, locks don't cycle I did some more reading and searching online and there seems to be a memory problem with the truck's computer? If this is so, is there a way to reset it? If this is something I absolutely can't fix, what's a ballpark estimate on the cost to have someone else fix/program it? any other ideas?
  11. Ok folks, IAW mileage calculator, traction control uses more gas. So my question is if anyone know what can be done to the computer settings to set it where it won't turn on the traction control when the truck's engine is started? There has to be a way... We ol's guys sometimes forget to turn off. Lol
