I have a 2014 GMC Sierra SLT 4WD 5.3L. 3 days ago while driving home I noticed that there was a slight stutter/shudder when the truck was attempting to shift up to the next gear. It seems that it only happens when easing into the gear at a slower speed, normally around 50MPH or so,and occasionally continues to happen while maintaining those speeds. 89,000 miles on it. I bought all the stuff do change the transmission fluid and filter but was hoping somebody could give me some alternative ideas to check before diving down that rabbit hole. Really needs this fixed ASAP, I’m a firefighter and this is my vehicle I commute to work in. Thanks in advance for any help.

Sparking metallic sound while starting
MacAaroni posted a topic in 1999-2013 Silverado & Sierra 1500
Ever since I got my transmission rebuilt I started hearing a metallic sparking sound whenever I started my truck cold. Also my truck seemed to be having a slight stutter when I started it, almost as if it wanted to shut off, but its only for a half second. I thought it had something to do with the battery going bad (had it for 3-4 years), so I took it to get tested and failed the test. So I got a new battery but the problem persisted. I then took out the starter to get it tested and it passed its test. After installing it back the sound actually got worse and not only made the sound during the turning of the motor but also while driving. The sound goes away as the vehicle heats up and it will not make the noise again until the truck has time to cool down. One thing I have noticed that may be a problem is I am missing the flywheel/starter plastic cover. It sits between the flywheel and starter so I am not sure if it also acts as a shim and is causing the issue. Any ideas what I’m dealing with here? 2006 GMC Sierra 1500 WT 4.8L 2WD Clip of sound here, not the best capture of it but it’s there. https://embed.api.video/vod/vi6aE7zkG3ZoZyQe1NNXrslh -
So finally finished my truck. 2014 Sierra Single cab L83. GPI stage 2 cam kit, DOD delete, LS7 lifters.... 2.9L Whipple with a 4inch pulley Stock convertor Full exhaust Tune Got 517whp... Everything was running perfect untillll.... Started losing power, and quite a bit. Took it back to the garage, they tested pipes, vacuum, all seemed to be in order. Later found 3 spots where there were leaks im my exhaust where the headers connects to the y pipe and out the y pipe to the catback, they were clamped... So got flanges and bolted them on... All perfect... Still running 7.3psi high boost and its beginning to frustrate me. I also get rpm drops in 2nd gear at 4500 and above (this has been happening ever since i added the cams before having the supercharger) - doesn't happen everytime, but happens more often than not. Any suggestions? Any ideas? Oh i also have a gear oil cooler installed... Recently serviced everything, gear oil, diff oil, engine oil, spark plugs, changed the wiring to the MSD and added a heat shield to be safe.... Something is wrong and its quite annoying. Note: its hot AF where im at - Dubai... Easily hits 45degrees C during the day with insane humidity levels... Any feedback wld be helpful... Thanks Im going for a compression test tomorrow to see if that is fine.

Hi all, I am new to this forum and decided I would post about my issue since I can’t seem to find anyone with the same issue on a 6speed 2018, only 2017s and below... I have an extremely annoying fish bite/stutter when cruising up light inclines on the highway and while the stutter is happening, my RPMs are bouncing ever so slightly (probably about 50-100). It’s minimal bouncing but it almost replicates what would be a misfire or a transmission issue. Truck has 22000 kms on it. I have been dying to get a Diablew tune but I really want to see if I can get this issue fixed beforehand. I brought it to the dealer twice and they checked the TCM for updates and nothing. They checked for TSBs and nothing. They took it for test drives and “could not duplicate the issue”. I’m getting sick of my dealerships lacking desire to fix my issue. Has anyone had this issue and got it resolved? Would love to hear any feedback. Thanks.

I have a 95 1500 that I have no check engine light, but the truck will stutter when idling or first accelerating from stop when it is maybe 50F outside or warmer. If it is cold outside, the truck idles fine and accelerates without any issues. I've checked and changed plugs, which looked fine with no issues or fowling.

Thought this might be a better place to ask. Ok so my wife and I were bringing home our 6800lbs. camper it's about 180 miles total. Half way thru our trip the truck began shaking violently in 4th gear my immediate thoughts were crap I just burned up 4th gear. So I shift into 3rd and start looking for a spot to pull over but the shaking goes away. About 15 miles later the truck starts to do the same in 3rd gear but not as bad. Thank god I got to somewhere with a large enough shoulder I could pull off. When I come to a stop the truck is barely idling and chugging BAD. So I shut it off get out and start to look at stuff. First thing is tranny fluid it is bright red and smells like the brand new stuff in the truck. Oil was the typical color and just changed in July. Replaced plugs 1 year ago (about 6k miles), and wires 3 months ago. Now onto the truck. It is a 2003 5.3L 80k miles. I have had a random miss fire for almost 3 years along with a slight manifold exhaust leak (broken bolts). Until lately the exhaust leak would seal itself back up now but now it is leaking badly (for about 1 month) and the truck has no power and just shakes and chugs at lower rpms. Higher you go the more it cleans up but gives an random misfire almost constant in the higher rpms. Are my cats clogged? Cam position sensor? I am at a loss and all of this would have been fixed in a timely manner if my daily driver commuter car would have just cost me $1000 in struts, tires and ball joints. I'm just wondering where I should start looking for the problem and where to go from there.
