Two or four-wheel-drive? If four, have you verified it's not accidentally in 4-hi?

Pop open your switch and look at these points. If they are cracked and broken, you should be able to re-solder them and give that a shot. It is my understanding that the bad solder/broken connections are the problem with these switches. Make sure to wick up the old solder and use new solder. Don't just remelt the old.

The top stud has a threaded collar on it that pushes the lens down or pulls the lens up dependent upon the position of the collar. Pull the light housing from the mounting location and you will clearly see the way to adjust it.
