I never reset it in any of my vehicles, the aveage mpg is the only thing of importance to me. My last truck was a 2010 Sierra All Terrain 5.3L E cab and in the 24,000 miles the aveage readout was 17.7 but I also drove almost 1/2 of those miles in winter using AUTO 4x4 mode all the time. The All Terrain pkg rode too rough for my taste.
I too never bought it for mileage, needed a CC for business and wanted a top line truck w/o AFM.
