  1. Today was day 7 of the building of my new house! This is my first house, and my wife and I are expecting a baby this summer! Things have moved fast for the house, last Friday we started breaking up the frost on the ground, (its been -40 here) and Monday we dug the hole. Monday night was the footing pour, Wednesday afternoon we poured the walls, today we poured the garage footing (hehe my first garage ) and also got our septic tank in. Next week the floor goes on, needless to say we are excited! Photobucket wont cooperate tonight so pics will wait!
  2. Have the shop who installed the kit t/s the cause of the popping noise. Its likely a problem with the install. You have a right to have a proper performing system, and If the company is reputable, they will honor their shop warrantee. As far as the OP goes, Most here will recommend an alignment after install but its not absolutely mandatory. Monitor your tire wear. If the outside starts to wear faster than the inside, then have your camber adjusted. That's all there is too it. You could also likely install it yourself, its not hard. worst part is you'll need a friend to pry the lower control arms down while you fight the struts into place. Everything else goes pretty easy. And I believe it was mentioned you'll need to separate the ball joint and sway bar links. If you have any sort of tool selection you can handle it. There are tons of videos on youtube of 2007-2013 being done, the process is the same!
  3. Went to goodyear to get a new tire. Ran over a fencepost hunting, $370 later I have one new 265/70/17 Duratrac. The rest of my tires are about 6 months old.
  4. definitely a short. Find which wire is shorted and repair.
  5. hot oil VS cold oil, filter, settling time etc, all factors. Engines should be drained hot. This ensures all the contaminents your oil is designed to absorb come out when you drain it, and leave it drain for at least 15 minutes. The oil should be full when hot and no lower then 1/2 way down the operational area of your dipstick when cold. Like others have mentioned, Collect drained oil and compare with oil added. Id say any oil consumption is unacceptable from a new truck.
