  1. So here is an update for the truck I purchased in the beggining of December. I have owned this truck for a total of 4 months now. I am right at 6,000 miles and I am now consistently getting 18mpg! I took my truck on I44 over the weekend and drove about 100 miles on the interstate and was making 24.5 mpg cruising between 75-80 mph! What everybody told me about letting it break in was true! Also, my truck coasts a lot better now and I do not have to stay in the gas pedal to keep the speed up. I have made no modifications what so ever. I am now very happy with my purchase!
  2. Ok, my second fuel tank is about done...lasted about 3 days. Right now I have a quarter tank of gas left and I have driven 224 miles. This is what I have noticed about my truck. 1. The truck definitely FEELS like it has no real power 2. I have to stay in the gas pedal to maintain speed. 3. If I let off of the gas and try to just "coast" my truck instantly starts slowing down as if I were slightly breaking even when im going down hill. 4. To get up to speed on the Highway I really have to get on to the gas and hold it there other wise I will go from 70 to 60 with in 3-5 sec. This is the first actual pick up I have ever owned however, I have owned a Suburban since 2006 (recently traded for a 2010) but they both maintain their speeds a lot better. Not sure what to think...
  3. Well I fueled up today! 283 miles to the tank. And i was sweating bullets because I thought I wasn't going to make it to the gas station! The truck took 21 gallons. So some quick math tells me I was getting between 14 and 15 miles to the gallon...I think. But what I'm confused about now is why do I have a 21 gallon tank and not 26 gallon tank? My owners manual says it should have 26 gallon tank. It does not even show 21 gallon as an option.
  4. Im just below a quarter tank with 80 miles remaining. ..
  5. Dealership today told me I have to give it at least 3500 to 5000 miles before I see true gas mileage. They said it's not broke in...
  6. Its bumped up to 13mpg...lookin like I will get about 300 miles out of this first tank
  7. Wandern, thanks for the reply! I hope you are right. I'll keep folks posted with my experience. Maybe I will start a new thread about it and keep a log for people to track with me. This is the first new vehicle I ever bought!
  8. Hello, I am the proud owner of a brand new 2014 Chevy Silverado! I just brought my truck home for the first time Friday night (6 Nov). when I drove it of the lot my truck had only 3 miles on the odometer. Once filled up with fuel the range indicated that I could drive 200 miles...I chalked it up to being brand new and figured it was because it is the first full gas tank it has ever had. However, I am already down between the Half and quarter tank marks and have driven only 140 miles! What's really going on? Did anybody have this experience with their first tank of gas? Does it get better? I have the 5.3L V8 ECOTEC3 and the 3.08 Ratio. My window sticker says I should get 470 miles on a full tank...does anybody else get this? Thank you everybody in advance! I look forward to your feed back!
