  1. Let me guess. Her fake name is Jennifer. She will blow you off and all she is, is a stroker to pump up the hope. I went through the crap and ended up with vibration deadeners on steering column and exhaust. Last to fix once and for all was ditch the shitty Goodyears and put on Michelins Road Forced balance. They paid for the tires so make them do it. GY are 4 piece and the Michelins are 8. Smooth as silk. I may keep my truck for more that 2 years....
  2. Have mine off with module and get 24 mph\g on highway going 70 mph.
  3. Goodyear tires are junk. The dealership needs to put Michelins an and road force balance them. Goodyear is a 4 piece tire and the Michelins are 8 piece. Vibration dampeners on the steering shaft and firewall help as well.
  4. Drove from Chicago to Detroit today with the AFM turned off with the V4 module. Got 24.2 mpg. Took picture of dash but don't know how to paste. Have Sierra crew cab 5.3 motor with 3.45 gears. set cruise at 68 mph. Not bad. The most I got when the AFM was activated was about 22. Runs great. Oh yea. Air conditioning was on.
  5. Just got my GM magazine and it states that GMC Sierra is Consumer's Guide Automotive 2014 Best Buy Award. Has 5 stars above it. Also KBB.com's Lowest 5 year cost to own in it's class. Christ, GM still believes the Sierra is the best thing since sliced bread. It talks about the inside luxury. Nothing about how it shakes like a dog shitting razor blades. Huh. Why do they leave that part.
  6. The vibration was in the steering wheel. Really did not notice any other. Got that fixed and then got a Range 8 from Range Tech to keep it in 8 cylinder. I am happy camper. Did you find the thread because I can scan and send you the repairs with part numbers if you like. Just message your info.
  7. See if you can go back and look at my entry. I had vibration on the hands and they fixed it. I have a list of what they did down to the parts it took. Tires and vibration dampeners. Road force balance is important. GM will not help. The dealer at this point is the only friend you have. If they do not help, go to a different one.
  8. Spend $200 and get the module from Range technologies. It make a difference keeping the AFM from kicking in. I bought one and enjoy my truck so much better. Have 2014 GMC Sierra.
  9. @mzodrag I am trying to help here. You buy a truck and the damn thing drives around like a beaten **** in the so called V4 mode. Keep it like it is and go around a corner and punch and you get a bang when it comes out of V4. Get a grip. You bought the truck to drive it like a truck not a Prius.
  10. I would pass. You could be stuck with a truck you can't drive. The AFM feature is a joke and makes a lot of noise. They have no idea about the vibration. I went through it for three months. In and out of the shop 10 times. Loaners or being stuck at shop. Total not having the truck for about 13 days the first month. I don't care what the extended warranty is. If it vibrates and irritates you it isn't worth it. You can't do lemon law because they will claim that it is within spec and normal. There I said it.
  11. I guess without the chip, the truck goes through all of the gears and gets the max RPM out of every gear. I think with the AFM it tries to get to the highest gear as fast as it can to get into 4 cylinder. Thus the drone noise.
  12. I don't know how it works. It disables the AFM so it does not go into 4 cylinders. They have been saying on this page that the 5.3 burn oil and the rings stick using AFM. I had the drone starting about 40 MPH if I were to hold the speed steady. The only other way is to put the shift selector on M and drive it in 5th gear. That does keep the RPMs up and burns more fuel. If you have it in cruise control you don't want to be feathering the throttle. Believe me if it wasn't for the device GM would have had a truck stuck sideways.
  13. Start with vibration dampeners and Michelins. Also driveline balance would help too.
  14. Range Tech chip works great. There is tons of power with no drone or exhaust vibration. Haven't seen a drop in MPG. Well worth 200 bucks. I am enjoying my truck now and will keep it.
  15. I tried that. Cover had nothing to do with it. Tires tires tires. Put your cover back on so the groceries don't get wet.
