4th ski-doo

I liked the 4" round but thought this would protect the truck from rock dings http://www.runningboardworld.com/ionic-voyager-running-boards-chevy-silverado-crew-cab-2014.aspx The brackets on my old truck mounted thru the body bolts but these mount to the inside of the bottom. Is that style mount strong enough?
