  1. every inch counts
  2. Pretty sure the RC 5" is a solid lift and was very popular on the previous style. The one big omprovement I like is that they went to control arm relocation brackets rather than new longer knuckles, which keeps your stock track width. I hated that my old RC 6" lift moved the front tires out wider than the rears. later down the road I will probably buy it or the zone 4.5. I just cant bring myself to do all the hacking it requires just yet on a brand new truck I paid 40k for haha.
  3. I dont think this is the greatest idea but if you do go with it i would get the adjustables. if you want exactly 4" have you thought about doing the RC 2.5 with zone 1.5" body lift? its tough to find a good in between lift. 4" is right at that middle point.
  4. nice looking truck! cant wait to put the 1.5 body on mine, can barely notice its a body lift
  5. my previous truck had this same scenario... f150 with a rough country 6" lift on it. the blocks are a nice design and add extra support but those small u-bolts go out too far where there is no shim in between the leaf. I just cranked down the u bolts anyways and made the "W" like yours and never had any problems for the 3 years i owned the truck. i was thinking about cutting some delrin shims and sticking them in between but i never got around to it.
  6. Yea i did the entire install myself, control arms were very easy to install, they slid right in. Directions did say trimming may be required but I didnt have to do anything. Alignment shop had no problems getting it staight also.
  7. Rough country UCA's with moog ball joints
  8. Yea I have too, but its the right amount of lift i want right now and a lot less invasive for the installation. down the road i will put a full 4.5" or 5" kit on it.
  9. installed rough country 3.5 lift in the front with upper control arms. rear currently has 1" block that i had with the RC 2.5 kit. rides stiff but i dont mind, makes it feel more like a truck. planning on putting in the 1.75" block in which will bring it .25 higher than the front, which is perfect IMO. Also removed all the emblems, going for a clean look on this truck. Zone 1.5" body is next on the list to do, along with 305/55 terra grapplers and 1.5" wheel adapters.

    3.5 FRONT

From the album: 2014 PROJECT CLEAN

rough country 3.5 lift FRONT ONLY in this picture. rear still has the 1" block from the RC 2.5 kit. I will install the 1.75" block later as the front sits .5" higher right now. debadged also
  11. did you have to trim the lug nuts to fit the 1.75" and 1.5" spacers?
  12. thanks, been looking for someone thats done the zone 1.5 with the rc 3.5. any more pics? or did he change it already...
  13. What's the lift/tire setup? Looks more than 3.5
  14. Nice!! his truck looks great too with the 2" spacers. gives it a great stance with the stock wheels, nice and clean. get the spacers on ebay? or local shop? any trouble with the RC 3.5? im looking into that with the upper control arms, just have heard a lot of horror stories. awesome comparison pic btw
  15. your truck looks awesome! good amount of height and stance. it will loot even better with a wider tire. I am looking for a 4" kit and keep my stock 20" wheels, but fabtech says you cannot run factory wheels. just wondering if you needed the full 2" wheel spacers in order to clear whatever interference issues the kit causes
  16. good to know! I am thinking about de-badging and that makes life way easier. I did the muffler delete to mine and welded in a straight peice but its still way too quiet. thinking about getting rid of the resonator, and that flappy valve.

  18. More pics please! Is that rear chevy badge just glued on? or were there locator holes you had to fill in? Also how did you dump the exhaust?
  19. I did the muffler delete a couple weeks back and was considering taking the valve out also, but I heard it helps a lot with the V4 drone. I will try the clamp open and see how it sounds. It will probably help with the exhaust tone when its at idle too, right now it just sounds like rushing air.
  20. cant seem to find anything... but it is that valve?
  21. Bought a brand new 2014 ext cab LT with the 5.3 back in february. Now that its getting nicer and have had the windows down more often i have noticed a faint squeak every time I accelerate and it goes from V4 mode to V8. I cant really pin point the location since it only happens when im driving but it sounds like its from the rear. My only guess is it could be the butterfly valve after the muffler opening up when it gets more pressure from the exhuast... Anyone else noticing this? its just one of those things that is really bugging the crap put of me. other than that the truck is awesome!
  22. Does anyone know if the LTZ rims are the same size as the 5 spoke 20's i have on mine? (width, offset) I have the RC 2.5 lift and want to do 305/55R20 terra grapplers on the stock rims. not worried about a little rub at full turn
