I'd buy a powertrain extended warrantee (preferably GM) asap.

How many built vs. how many shakers? My 14 at 50k miles is a total success. Shook, fixed, end of story. I've talked to many owners (mostly at gas pumps) and NEVER FOUND ONE WHO HAD A SHAKER. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

AGARubberDuck Let's not forget the 35 to 50 mph vibration caused by a ring gear badly out of specs.
-
Thanks much, abom! Great info.

My low speed vibe was fixed (14 dble cab tx edition). Ring gear badly out of specs, replaced rear axle. Smooooooth ever since.
-
I believe the term that you want is "mass."
-
"All the GM1500 trucks do it." I'm sure there are hundreds, of the many, many thousands built in the last three years, but "ALL"?
-
There are many out there with no vibe issues. Only the few dozen that have issues show up here. I've asked dozens at gas pumps and have yet to have anyone say, "Yes." Thousands built, a few dozen with issues. Not fun if you happen to be the unlucky one, however.

Tiny rumble strip vibe @ 40 -50 mph. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk

Since having the rear end checked and replaced in the first month I had my 2014 dbl cab se 5.3 4wd I have had zero vibes. Just sayin, happiness is possible. (Now 32k miles.)
-
Having now followed for 2 years and 600+ pages, observations - The frames are so stiff that they transfer every vibration instead of absorbing any. Quality control for tires and rear gearing parts that may have been okay for older frames is not sufficient now. GM seems unable to "get it."

Who said that Ford Rangers were built in Mexico? I believe all were built in St.Paul, MN.
-
Agreed!

Please re-read what I said. The experiences are not equal! I've had the vibes (fixed) and feel for owners whose vibes are not fixed. What I believe is just as irrelevent as what you think is interesting - even if it's not there.
-
So your experience with a vibe Harley and dirt cars have convinced you that GM 1500s will have similar failures? Interesting.

'14 dbl cab TX Edition radio froze (first time) yesterday. Nothing would make it work. Also noticed my android phone showed no signal (I was in an area where I should have had 5 bars). I did a restart on the phone and my truck's radio started working normally. Go figure.

'14 Sierra dble cab 5.3 Texas Edition (3.42 rear). 40 - 50 mph vibe fixed when new by replacing the rear end (r8ng gear way out of specs). 18 months, 22,000 miles mostly Midwest (max.70 mph) driving, no issues. Now feeling variable 70 - 80 smooth road vibe traveling in S.W. U.S. If I hadn't gone outside of MN I wouldn't have found this! Welcome me to the miserable...!

Has anyone removed the front airdam to check for a high speed flapping? The vibration that only appears over 70 mph (unlike the "tiny rumble-strip" that appears around 40 to 50 mph) could be wind resistance related....? Sad. No surprise if Fiat or even Nissan, but GM? If they lose their truck customers who will pay the bills? Not the taxpayers.
-
Read (Consumer Rpts) that 85% of Ford F-150 (2015) buyers would buy again. Only 74% would buy GM 1500 again.

The point I keep trying to make is GM CANNOT RECOVER COSTS FROM THEIR SUPPLIER. PERIOD. No "should," no "in theory." ZERO recovery. That is the legal reality. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk

Guess I wasn't clear... GM is cutting corners if they install parts that don't meet specs. "In theory" isn't relevant. LEGALLY they must bear the cost of repair/replacement if they install bad parts.
-
Legally, I believe that GM is responsible for ensuring that parts meet specs before installation. Cutting corners, in this case, is costing GM big time, unless the customer accepts the "performing as designed" b.s. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk

GM was so much more efficient than that! Truck was delivered with that requirement already built in.My point, however, is that some of us have been lucky enough to get our vibes fixed. It's one fine truck vibe free. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk

My GMC sle dbl purchased 7/14 and repaired with a new rear end in 9/14 continues vibration free at 20k miles and 4 tire rotations. No Ford, FCA, or Toyota looks so good and delivers terrific fuel economy.
