  1. My 2015 Sierra crew cab was built October 10, 2014, in Mexico, and has the muffler but no bracket. I took the truck to a dealer last week to have the air bag deployment recall done, and asked if they could install a bracket. They checked and said my VIN didn't show up under the bulletin, so didn't need the bracket. I had already bought a bracket on Ebay, so when it arrived, I went ahead and installed it. My A.C. line looks like all the photos I've seen of lines needing a bracket. With my luck I'd eventually have to take my truck back to the dealer some day with a leaking A.C. line, and ask them why it cracked since they said it didn't need a bracket. I'm sure they'd remember and offer to repair it at no charge.
  2. Thanks....I'll have to give it a look.
  3. Which tonneau cover did you install?
  4. Thanks, Tom. I'll take a look at that. I'm usually okay if I can dry the truck off before the water dries, which I can do at night. But there's no way I can prevent water spots if I wash in the heat of a Texas summer day with the sun shining on the truck. I'm curious to find out if a filter could prevent spots even in the heat of the day.
  5. I tried washing mine at 8 am, but without shade I got water spots before I could get the vehicle dried off. Then after I pulled it into the garage I spent quite a bit of time with detail spray removing water spots. The last couple of times I set up some lights and started washing around 10 pm. It was much better in the cool of the night, but I'm sure my neighbors think I'm crazy.
  6. I like the idea of using a canopy....lately I've been washing my truck and my wife's Tahoe at night because of the Texas heat.
  7. The LOMAX hard folding cover has my attention. If it's priced right and doesn't leak light a sieve, it could be my new cover.
  8. That's unacceptable....not sure what I'm going to do about taking mine in.
  9. Yep, I paid $450 a couple of months ago for Line-X in my Sierra, and my son-in-law just paid $500 for his Ford F-350 short bed.
  10. Spurly, groundtrooper, when you guys get your trucks with the G4 installed, how about a quick review? I'm interested in the G4, and would appreciate hearing what you think about it.
  11. I'm about to install an Elite Engineering E2-X catch can on my 2015 Sierra 5.3L, with 6404 miles. I was thinking about running a can of the CRC Intake Valve Cleaner through the engine, and found this thread. Can anyone who has used the cleaner update me on what they think about using it. It appears two users have had to have their catalytic converters replaced. That is a concern, but I'm thinking at 6400 miles maybe that might be less of an issue for me. My other concern is small bits of hard carbon breaking off and scouring the cylinder walls, but again, maybe at my mileage this would be less of an issue? Should I change my oil immediately after using the cleaner? I'd appreciate any thoughts, advice, or recommendations on the products use from anyone who has given it a try. Thanks.
  12. I had the same question the first time I tried to remove mine. I wasn't pulling hard enough because I was afraid I would break the clip. I finally pulled with enough pressure for them to release and the mat popped off of the clip.
