  1. Before moving to the Houston area I'd have agreed with this. Traffic and stoplights pretty much negate any freedom of movement around here...
  2. Yeah, I don't get the hate for Ram's dial shifter. Most things in vehicles are electronically controlled these days, so the "gear shifter" really isn't necessary and just takes up room. Without keys, GM wouldn't have had the ignition issue that cost people their lives. Now, as for the self driving vehicles, I'm all for it! But these vehicles will need a total redesign to fit a recliner, Big Screen TV w/surround sound, kitchen, and bathroom. I'd take more long roadtrips if I had a self driving vehicle like that!!
  3. I got a 2x10x12, and made two bed dividers to use in the back slots. One for me, and one for my neighbor (he bought his Sierra after looking at mine for 2 weeks). Getting the rounded lower corners just right was the hard part. Once I had the template, the 2nd one was a piece of cake! Now I'm trying to figure out how I want to store my bungee cords on the back side of it (would be facing front of bed). My first thought was eye bolts, but when mocking that up they were a bit too cumbersome for my liking. I don't want anything that would have to bolt all the way through the board, as I want the divider to stay smooth with no snags on the front side (facing tailgate). My second thought is to use smaller eye bolts, spaced about 8 inches apart, and put a piece of all thread through the eye bolts with a washer and nut on each end securing it - basically, creating a U bolt without using a U bolt.
  4. It does look like a Titan back glass. Is that a custom job fitting a Titan window in the GM, or is this a kit that's actually on the market?
  5. Good to know, as I also have a double cab. I didn't realize you had to cut them to length. I just figured they would send the proper length since most order forms ask which cab model/trim you have. Plus, wouldn't it save them money on materials and shipping to not send 14 extra inches of waste material for every double cab order? No big deal though, I can cut 'em. Thanks for the info!
  6. One more question about the AMP boards... Anyone have them installed WITH the GM molded front splash guards? Will they clear, or do the front splash guards have to be removed?
  7. I wish there was an aftermarket kit that would drop the whole back window (like the Tundra has). That would be worth $1200 to me! Not sure the little box in the middle is worth that kind of money.
  8. Fortunately I got one with telescoping steering wheel, so that's good for me. But if it didn't move in a bit, I'd be feeling like you do. I'm gradually getting used to the brake situation... I may still try a pedal block on the skinny pedal though.
  9. It's not so much the spacing left to right as it is front to back. I'm short, only 5'5", and if I get the seat where it's comfortable to work the gas, it feels like I have to put a 90 degree bend on my leg to get my foot back to the brake. Slight exaggeration, but it's enough to be a little uncomfortable. Snagging my toe was a result of expecting the pedal to be at a certain place, and when I went to move my foot left it wasn't there - it was still "behind" my foot (on the topside of my foot). If I adjust the seat where it's comfortable to work the brake, it feels like I'm stretching to press the gas enough to get going. I will say this, the pedal feel on the brake is outstanding IMO,once I get my foot on it. It's just the placement in relation to the accelerator that feels off.
  10. Thought I was the only one until I searched this. The first few stops, I got my toe snagged on the back of the brake pedal - glad none of them were "emergency" stops. The brake seems to be so far forward compared to anything else I have driven (admittedly, I haven't driven a GM product since about 2001, so maybe all GM is like this?) For me, it definitely takes a conscious effort to lift my whole leg backwards then left to apply brake. It's kind of a PITA, but not a deal breaker, as I really do like the rest of the truck. I hadn't thought about pedal extenders, I may look into that for the skinny pedal to make the gap a little more "normal".
