  1. So I need to take my truck in for a number of recalls also. The radiator issue was identified when it was still under the powertrain warranty but the most recent bulliten hadn't been issued at that time. If I present the information politely as @The Cowardins did, what are the odds of getting it replaced for no charge on my 2015 with 69,000 miles?
  2. True but just make sure the one you pick doesn't drone while cruising in V8 mode. I have had good luck with my 18" Magnaflow in this regard but it still makes itself known when I step on the accelerator.
  3. Get a Range AFM Disabler. Trust me you will love it after that.
  4. Enjoy and let us know how you like it. I disabled V4 after I installed mine (drove me nuts on the highway) but once I did that I loved it.
  5. I went with an 18" 4x9 center/offset 3" on mine but I replaced the pipes with 3" dynomax pipes. If your just replacing the muffler you will probably need to take it to a shop as they will need to add some pipe due to the difference in length vs stock. I would recommend 3" since the stock pipe is 2.75" but which size oval would depend on which lines up better with the stock piping.
  6. I'd go either 14" dynomax ultra flo welded or 14" magnaflow (oval body). Either of those should give you the sound you are looking for.
  7. I had the same experience with delays and canceled orders back in December and January. If you order the kit order the VT one as the ultra flo is about as hard to find as the tailpipe. Keep an eye on eBay though as they do pop up every once in a while.
  8. I got the Dynomax pipes but it took me two months from when I ordered them until I had them both. I ordered the intermediate pipe from Summit and found the tailpipe on eBay. Also, I put an 18" Magnaflow on mine and I wouldn't go any shorter without the Dynomax extension pipe (51075) because you won't have enough pipe to clamp onto.
  9. You can find those rubbery nubs that GM uses online at electronics stores and they do a great job of sealing the connector. You just need to remember to put it on the wire before you crimp on your terminals. Some terminals actually crimp onto both the bare wire and the nub.
  10. Sounds like it's got a straight pipe at startup.
  11. Maybe try the 22" Magnaflow to quiet it down some. My 18" sounds good but would likely be too loud with headers.
  12. I don't have the Gibson system but can you get that pipe seated, the clamp on, and then try to reattach the hangers? I used a Dynomax pipe and mine was difficult to get on because it seemed just a touch too long. Yours seems almost 3/16" short based on your picture.
  13. I just put an 18" Magnaflow on mine and while I love the sound the V4 drone is quite annoying. This isn't limited to Magnaflow but pretty much all aftermarket exhausts that get rid of the adaptive valve. Just keep in mind that you may want something to disable V4 mode if you get an aftermarket exhaust.
  14. Is the V4 drone noticeable on the Volant system or does it do a good job of taming it?
  15. Let us know how you like it once you get it on. I love the sound of mine other than the V4 drone which is maddening. I have a Range AFM Disabler on the way to fix that though
  16. It only took about an hour to get the stock exhaust off and that includes the time to jack it up and lower the spare tire. I'm use to working on rusty vehicles with the road salt here but this went super smooth since everything was nearly new.
  17. Here is the part number and description JST130 S.S.3"X4"DUAL ANG 16. Below is the link where I got it from.http://www.actionautoparts.com/store/jones-jst130-ss3-inch-x4-inch-dual-ang-16-providence-ri
  18. Funny you say that as I am the same way. I'm already thinking about taking it to a shop that can cut out a 2-3" section after the last hanger, weld it back up, and weld the tip on as well. That should get the tip centered exactly where I want it.
  19. Finally got the new exhaust installed. Went with an 18" Magnaflow muffler, Dynomax 3" stainless pipes and a Jones Exhaust tip (Corsa style). Stock system came out surprisingly easily in one piece doing it by myself. Using Channellock plies to get the hangers off worked great and getting the exhaust over the rear axle was absent of drama. As others have mentioned, jack the passenger side rear tire up about an inch off the ground, support the frame with a jack stand, and lower the spare tire down out of the way. All in all I am very happy with the sound (other than V4) and appearance of it and it only cost me around $350.
  20. I went with an 18" Magnaflow and I love the sound of it. The Corsa style tip wasn't a perfect fit but its close enough. Its not terrible but I just wish it was centered a bit more between the wheel well and the rear bumper. Yours will likely fit better with the Volant pipe.
  21. Finally got the new exhaust installed.
  22. The Corsa tips look great. I'm hoping my setup ends up looking like that also.
  23. I will hopefully be installing my exhaust this weekend (weather permitting) using one of those tips and I have the same concern. My tail pipe is from Dynomax but the cat-back kit they sell comes with a tip similar to the Volant style. My initial measurements look promising but no way to know for sure until it's on there.
  24. If you are looking for a Corsa style tip check out SUM-691201 at Summit. Looks identical to the Corsa tip other than the logo and is significantly less expensive.
