  1. Btw I had to refill the refrigerant again Sunday and I was on the road, I just happened to have my mani gauges in the truck, and my kids and wife were in there with me. I pulled up to o'reily and bought a can tap (happened to have a can of r134 in the truck too) because I had a half can still at home. When I went up to pay for the tap I got curious and asked the gentleman if he could look up a condenser for me, and He says, "we don't have any here but we show three in Houston. Needless to say, i paid for it right away, and went to pick it up. Did the install on Tuesday. It comes with a lifetime warranty.
  2. Judging by what I've seen and someone mentioned here a few posts ago, I'd say that the dryer wasn't welded properly to the condenser.
  3. Thanks for the reply. Where were you able to find this info? I just googled it up but never really got the info I was looking for
  4. What does the accumulator/dryer look like on these trucks? Is there an orifice tube? I'm just trying to get the parts together for the condenser replacement. Also, how much oil do I have to add to the system?
  5. I don't think I can wait here in Houston ...
  6. have you checked Amazon?
  7. And here's roof that it is a leak. I had put UV dye in the system the first time I recharged it.
  8. Soectaculous, thanks for the advice. My co-worker and I were messing with our subs and ended up opening the hoods. I Remembered what you suggested and I checked... Time to start shopping for a new condenser. :/
  9. Damn I got the a/c leak virus!!! And I live in Houston!!! I haven't taken anything apart yet, i still had a bit of pressure the first time I started getting hot air, so I just added more refrigerant. The second time I went to auto zone and "borrowed" their manifold gauges and vacuum pump. The system held vacuum for about an hour. So I recharged it. Lasted a week. Now I went to harbor freight (I think I'm starting to like that store) and bought the gauges to be able to see what's going on. Tomorrow I'll be pulling vacuum to see what happens, but I feel like if it is the condenser, I might be able to hold vacuum again... is this a good hypothesis? 2015 Texas edition, 37,000 miles. No extended warranty. I feel like I could give this repair a try, I'm inclined to turn wrenches and know a bit about HVAC, so I'll start looking into it. But I'm so disappointed in GM. I always wanted a Chevy truck, but not like this.
