  1. Those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones Some "girls" moan about folding side mirrors ... I don't recall folding side mirrors being in the list of things needed for "real" trucks I also don't see GM buying back trucks over stuck side mirrors
  2. Or the other more obvious conclusion, you are very sensitive to the pressure, which makes it even worse
  3. Do you have really bad booming and pressure while driving on washboard roads If so, I think you just unfortunately have a very easily tickled setup where even the music is setting it off
  4. if you really want the adaptive cruise, you could opt for an Escalade since you'll have a better shot of finding Premiums in inventory vs a Denali where the dealer added cruise.
  5. If your really want 1 of those 2, go test drive them first. If one is all clear, ask to talk to the GM, elicit some sympathy with all your issues and frustration, and tell him how it would really be a huge solid. Most can easily say no from afar but will have a harder time in person.
  6. Ouch, sorry to see you (eventually) go, Marc, your work here has been very valuable Someone had asked about Canada, read this when you have time ... took him over a year, no response so he just took the hit and got into a Mercedes http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/cadillac-escalade-esv-forum-2015/635369-finally-made-service-appointment-multiple-issues-27.html
  7. They have - the roof - inputs tickle the roof, that's the long pole in the tent For those that have seen the roof bows, is there room to use something like Fiber Fix to lash around the attach points to prevent the roof from coming unattached - you'd want to leave a little slack
  8. Unrelated question, you've been thru 2 buybacks, right? How did you not feel the issues before you got the '16?
  9. Bed liner, that's interesting So you'd remove the roof like you're doing a roof TSB, make sure bows are attached, and then spray the entire structure from top and bottom?
  10. Each vehicle is different I didn't mean to imply in ALL vehicles it is not evident in other seats, but I believe in Fog's case, it was almost non existent in some of the rear seats The takeaway should be whoever needs to gauge the issue should be in the driver's seat As for your order, I would go test drive it but not be afraid to walk away Your chances of finding one will be much higher if you're willing to take one off a dealer's lot since that means you have a much larger universe of test drives
  11. This is getting buried in the pages There was a member here who took the time to sit in each position and gauge the "issues" - by far and away, the drivers seat is the worst seat in the house while "feeling" them in the 2nd and 3rd row is almost non existent So taking a tech as a passenger is not the best way for them to experience the issue
  12. I still go back to there being 2 issues, which can be related Booming / buffeting present in all and can be reduced if there's no Vibrations, this seems to excite the former issue much more and becomes painful to drive, but not present in all So if you can find a vibration free one, that's your starting point
  13. I'm not sure how to understand your RF math, but I know one of my wheels needed 8oz of weight to get the values under 10lbs
  14. Great news, and I know your original post was from almost a year ago, but nothing is 'fixed' yet in manufacturing I drove lots of 16s, some vibrated and almost all of them boomed/buffeted
  15. Crazy good update, I have almost no more booms and buffets. For me, further reducing unsprung weight was the fix. It's weird driving, I was used to the 1-2 punch of feeling the actual shudder in the seat before I felt the issue with my ears. Now no more. I already followed Austin's advice on getting the most sidewall on a smaller rim with a demanding road force balance, and I was very happy how much it helped. Thought about unsprung weight , so I went further and swapped for a forged wheel. In the end, I saved about 20lbs per corner or almost 25%. The rim swap actually saved more, but then I added an off road tire, which at 55lbs is significantly heavier than a street tire.
  16. FYI I test drove a lot of 16s All boomed, some worse than others Maybe half vibrated / buffeted so they can be found
  17. Remember there was a member who noticed that the issues were felt from only the drivers seat so Jason, if he was a passenger, wouldn't have noticed the issues even though he's definitely skilled enough to know what to feel for
  18. Awesome, our issue is there are 6 SKUs between 3 brands and 2 lengths so will take even more reporting unless we get lucky with 6-10 of the same SKU reporting this
  19. I'll put another reminder here, those of you with severe issues absolutely need to file a NHTSA complaint I'm not completely dismissing the usefulness of the article, but it's far from the most efficient route I've unfortunately had 3 recent vehicles have various recall/severe safety issues, and nothing happened from the manufacturer until people started complaining to the NHTSA
  20. Awesome news, but for me, if I didn't need the length of the LWB, I'd consider a different SUV I know it's buried in the thread, but can you just summarize everything you tried? Is the dealer taking it themselves (and they will fight GM for the buyback), or did you get a buyback approved? If the dealer is doing you a solid, you should advertise them.
  21. The test drive is key. Don't just settle for the typical 3 mile loop. Insist on 5 minutes each on a highway wide open, crappy roads and regular roads. You want to be able to stay in 35-45 and 65-85 for a few minutes. If it buffets or vibrates, you'll know. In my experience, all boom just find the one that booms the least.
  22. Sorry this sucks Seems like a prime candidate to start the lemon law process in your state
  23. Thanks for getting someone to finally notice Have you posted a complaint at the NHTSA site? If not, you need to do that.
  24. You're missing ELRIPs point, the key is to reduce vibrations/inputs into the vehicle So some guys dynamat everywhere and tighten the roof - worked I went to a more forgiving tire, more sidewall and annoyed the tire shop to keep swapping tires until we could get all four under 15 on the road force machine - worked And so on and so on
