Fog, GM should move the assembly plant to North Carolina ! These good ole Nascar boys can build and fix damn near anything. The first thing they would do is take the robot out of the assembly line and teach it to cook ribs . If my car had a problem I would run it over to Dale's house and let him take it for a ride and it would be fixed when he drove back up the road to the house. Carolina boys and girls are the best when it comes to cars and trucks. They are also the nicest people to live around. Regards, Booty

My thoughts are: The hatch is positioned to the body by robot. Then the human worker installs the bolts, then somewhere down the line the gasket is installed, the hatch is closed and the car moves on down the line. The hatch is large in area (big drum) and is exposed to lots of air pressure. So with a lousy weak seal/gasket and a misaligned hatch and latch you will get the drum affect in your ears. I do not know why my hatch is tight and others are not tight ? Are there 2 robots that place the hatches to the bodies ? And one is calibrated different in the positioning spec ? Is there a real inspection on the closing of the hatch or " Yep, she closes she does, she does" "Move her on down the line boys " Hee Haw type of inspection ? Maybe our GM "line experts" will respond with an answer. With best regards, Booty

OMG Buy. Have you ever looked under your TRUCK ? The rear end and front end are huge. The shocks are HUGE . The rear differential is bigger than your ..............any thing you have ever owned. Good grief , it is built like a tank. Go under the truck and take a look for yourself. Like I said " Carolina Girls" love this truck. "Southern Girls" never complain about big rear ends........and big shocks and a little bit of a "rough ride" All the best, Booty

OMG I can't stop laughing.....LOL LOL LOL I have been thinking the same thing. My Yukon rides like a limo and I keep forgetting that this thing is a heavy duty 4wd TRUCK that will pull a camper AND a boat up a mountain and around the mountain at a 45 degree angle over boulders and even thru the river. This thing is heavy duty. Even girls love them. Every " Carolina Girl" in this state has one...or two. Thanks for the laugh Bear !!! Booty

Just got thru with a good look at the tail gate. Did a paper test all around the gasket. The top and bottom papers were tough to pull out. Had to be careful not to tear them. The side papers pulled out easier ? So... the top and the bottom of the hatch is tighter on the gasket. I did not pry the square covers off of the latch to see if there was a slot for adjustment. Did notice there were 2 bolts on each hinge not 4. Maybe there is an adjustment slot there ? The gasket feels a bit weak and cheap compared to all the cars in my past. After all the lowest bidder got the job !!! And his brother in law was the purchasing agent ??? They both are on the beach in the Bahamas drinking rum........ Fog, I did see it. Also go back to page 3 of this forum and read Speedvision's post about "Tailgate Seal Gap " 25 april 2015 And no response from anyone ? I think everyone is so hung up on roof,shocks,tires,wheels, exhaust,fenders,drive shafts, etc, as the problem. I think the problem is in the tailgate area. I do not know if there is any adjustment in the latch to tighten the hatch against the gasket ? Once again the bad car I test drove had the booming in the rear of the car, not over my head ,not under my seat, not under the tires, not around the shocks, not from the fenders or exhaust. Fog, The bad car I test drove and rejected had a "not tight" rear glass. Also when I closed the rear hatch by remote, the hatch closed softly. The rear glass on the car I bought is tight as if it were bolted tight ? When I close the hatch by remote it "slams shut" at the end of travel. It "bangs shut" Tight !!! I think that all rear hatches are "hand adjusted" or hand/eye adjusted/fitted . I think that but I am not sure. On all my doors on all the cars I have owned, the latches have had an adjustment or shims in place. Gaskets ? They just do not make rubber gaskets like they did in the past. Gaskets are thinner in wall thickness, feel like...plastic, compress more and just seem "weak". Fill the hollow gasket with Hardware store round foam weather striping ??? Just thinking.. Keep in mind that all glass in the car is under a lot of pressure. Try to imagine holding the rear glass out the window @ 20 mph. It would suck you out of the car !!! You have been trying different fuels every time you buy at your truck stop. And now you are buying different fuels on the road ? From now on try Exxon Mobil ONLY , when your engine performance improves then stick with Exxon Mobil. I only hope you have not fouled a spark plug or 2......? Merry Christmas to you and drive safe. A can of B-12 fuel additive every fill up till you get home will help.

I do not buy any thing but Exxon Mobil. They do not shop price daily on truck loads of strange unknown fuel like truck stops do. Exxon does not play games with their quality. To shop for a penny here and a penny there with different fuels is ok for the old 6 cylinder chevy inlines but not the new engines we have today. Our marina manager where we live shops fuels to make profit and sells bad fuel to all the boats except me. Different "Bootleg" trucks deliver the fuel to him and all the boater have problems and problems. Our manager just does not "Get It" ?? Camp out at your truck stop and you will see different trucks with no names delivering fuel. It will take a lot of miles to be running 100 % clean good fuel as you will be diluting the bad fuel each fill up. Good luck and drive safe.

12 years ago I decided to ONLY use Exxon Mobil gas in all my vehicles. I am glad I did. I have not experienced any fuel related issues. I do not "Mix" fuels as I do not shop price. All of my vehicles run smooth. Some of my service vehicles have high miles. Our service center owner swears by Exxon Mobil also. Clean air,oil and fuel is the key to long life and good service. Sounds like you have a fuel related issue.
