I received a call from GM corporate. They are sending a service engineer out to my dealer hopefully within a week. I also have a weird electrical issue that caused 89 codes to pop with a check engine light. They also talked about looking into GM repurchasing the truck. Not sure how that works but at this point I’m leaning that way. I have no faith in this truck too bad too it’s a beautiful vehicle.
I received an update today from my dealer. The regional service manager had a meeting with my dealers managers and they have a fix in process. GM engineers have redesigned the controller and now we are waiting for the redesigned controller. They are estimating about a month before the replacement part will be available.
Apparently it’s a more widespread issue that people who are towing are finding for the most part. At least I know it’s more than just us. Good thing I didn’t just trade it on another truck which prob would have had the same issue.
I’ll update when I hear more.
I’ll update when I hear more.
Here is the Bulletin.
I agree this is total bs. I was between a ford and this Chevy and the more I think about it I think I made the wrong decision :-(
BULLETIN #PIT5948A.pdf
Same problem here on my 2022 Silverado LTZ. Had the dealer look at it and they said its fine and gave me a wireless charging tip sheet. Not very useful, same thing happens with my old iphone 12 and my new iphone 14. Frustrating for a $65k truck
Hey Drafil!
I'm in the same boat as you with the C159C code. I Haven't been able to get any resolution on it either. I have the bulletin PIT5948A, I can post it if you want. I have a case opened with GM Corporate as the dealership isn't very helpful. If they are unable to fix it sooner than later I'm going to attempt to go Lemon Law on it as its unacceptable for a pickup truck to not be able to tow.
