    My dad always said "If you cannot put a 4X8' sheet of plywood in the bed, between the wheel wells, it is not a truck". I completely agree. The shortbeds are cute, but when it comes to actually using a truck for what a truck is made for, there is no substitution for an 8' bed. Anyone who has ever moved with a full size truck with a short bed knows exactly what I'm talking about.
