  1. Thank you for that information. It's more than I've been told before.
  2. I had a first Gen 3.0 Duramax back in 2020 and had a few issues with it. I sold that truck but I want to get another Duramax. My main concern is that, it's not gonna be my daily and I want to know how long I need to drive it for it to regen. I had to take my 2020 Duramax to the dealership a few times for check engine lights, but it was for some sensor. Any information would be appreciated.
  3. The only other vehicle I have is my work truck, but I don't like using it too much because of the tools in the back. My 3.0 was the first gen engines, bought it brand new in 2019. I will be getting another one, now that I've gotten some info on how they work. Thanks
  4. I never got that "keep driving" message. I once got a "power reduced" message and it wasn't even a year old. What it also used to do was, sound like a Cummins with a lope. But I'd just shut it off for a while and it wouldn't do it. Any idea why it would do that?
  5. I owned the first generation of the 1500 duramax and loved it. It wasn't my daily driver, so I kept getting a check engine light. My guess is and from what the dealership told me, is that I didn't drive it enough to have the soot burn off. I don't currently own the truck anymore, but I am thinking of getting another one after my lease ends. My question is, how often and how long does the engine have to run for the system to do its thing? One service tech told me to turn it on daily for and let it run for about 20 minutes. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
  6. So I recently purchased a '22 silverado and I've noticed that when I unlock my phone, the volume goes down and doesn't return to normal. My '20 silverado did the same thing too. Any idea why it does this?
  7. So I've been seeing a couple of people on YouTube going to their local dealership and pre-ordering the refresh silverado/sierra, but when I went to my local dealership, they all told me they couldn't order any trucks because of some restraint GM has them. Is this a nationwide thing or just around my area?
  8. Sounds like I need to drive my truck more when I take it out. I usually just go down the street to buy breakfast, which is about a mile from my house.
  9. I don't drive my truck on the daily as I have a work truck. It sits in my driveway all week. My question is, how far and how long do I have to drive it when I do use it for a regen to happen?
  10. That's probably why. Like I said, I don't drive it every day, just weekends, and that's just to go to the grocery store or to the barbershop. The last time I took it in, they said some sensor on the exhaust was loose and that's what was throwing that check engine light.
  11. I have a 2020 silverado 1500 with the 3.0 duramax, close to 13K miles. Got it back in Nov 2019. I seem to be getting a lot of check engine lights lately. Obviously I don't drive it much as I have a company vehicle. I think I read somewhere that these engines need to run at least 12 miles or more daily in order for the system that burns off the excess exhaust gases, I can't remember what it's called, to work properly. I am thinking of trading in for the 2022 refresh but contemplating if it's worth getting another duramax. Any info and feedback would be greatly appreciated.
  12. Yeah, door was open. But like I said before, it's never done it until recently. None of those indicator lights should be on unless you press the switch.
  13. The truck was turned off when I took the picture. Nothing should be on.
  14. It's done it a few times before, but ever since I bought the truck they've been off.
  15. 2020 silverado lt. I noticed the lights for the auto start/stop and the 120 outlet indicator light stay on, not at full brightness but at about 25%. Anyone know what could be causing this? It looks bright in the picture but it's actually dim.
  16. I have a 2020 silverado with the 3.0 duramax that I purchased Nov 2019 and I bought the module to override the auto start/stop. I've had the check engine light come on 3 times since I bought. The las two were due to a sensor. My question is, could this be related to the module not letting the engine perform a regen? I ask because some guy on YouTube said his truck didn't turn off when he was stopped at the light so he knew it was doing a regen.
  17. 2020 Silverado with the 3.0 duramax. #1 key fob in my pocket, turned it on and for some reason the radio display showed key fob #2 was used to open the truck, then 2 seconds later it switched to my personal profile. It's been doing that every time I get in and turn it on. Anyone else going through this?
  18. I've got a 2020 silverado with the 3.0L duramax engine, bought it back in November and recently had a 4" lift installed. Lately I've been hearing this "thump", like an acorn falling on the roof. It does when it's been out in the sun for a while. Anyone else having this problem or know what it could be?
