Hello friends,
I'm having an issue with my 1999 GMC Sierra 2WD. Three days ago my truck died on a busy street. AAA towed the truck to my driveway. When I had a similar incident several years ago, a bad fuel pump was the issue. So, I lifted the bed of the truck and put in a new pump. I swapped out the fuel pump relay first, to no effect.
Most curiously, before I replaced the pump, which may or may not have even been the issue, the truck did start and run temporarily in my driveway. And after I installed the new pump, I felt confident in driving. Bad decision. I made it about 15 miles before it died again on the highway. "Hi AAA, it's me again."
After sitting for about an hour, the truck started up and ran for about 15 minutes before dying. I cleared any old diagnostic codes before the restart, and after it died I got a P0336 code (crankshaft sensor). I don't know if the new stall caused that, or if that is the big issue.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
