  1. Correct, all of those things were not included. I spoke to Bak Customer service this morning and they are working on it. They said they will ship the missing parts out as soon as possible from either their warehouse or direct from manufacturer depending on which will arrive to me quicker. So far, so good (except that it wasn't included originally )
  2. I received my Bakflip MX4 today and went to install it only to discover that only the cover and the rails were actually included in the box. None of the other installation hardware or instructions were shipped, so now I have to ask them to re-ship those parts. A bit of an annoying oversight, hopefully they will ship those parts quickly.
  3. First post here, but have been reading the forum for a few months now. Thanks for all the great information so far. I'm just about to buy a new 2017 Sierra Crew cab Short box, and I want to have a bed cover. I really want something that will keep most of the water out, but don't really want a solid top that makes it difficult to use the entire bed. I think I'm going to go with a hard tri-fold and am looking at the Bakflip and Gator models. After chatting with the salesperson online, apparently Gator and Bakflip are manufactured by the same company (I was chatting with the exact same salesman on both separate websites, which is when I realized they are the same company). He told me, "The Gator fx and Bakflip g2 are the same the fx is just private labeled. The Gator fx3 and Bakflip fibermax are the same and the Gator fx5 and Bakflip vp are the same. You can basically look at it like a brand extension. The Bakflip F1 and mx4 do not have a gator name so they are exclusive to the bak name." Anyway, so that is the information I discovered, which I found interesting. The Gator brand seems to be a little cheaper comparing apples to apples. The salesman is telling me he recommends the Bakflip MX4, which is basically the same as the FX/G2 but with stronger, matte aluminum. I mentioned it rains quite a bit where I'm at (PNW) and he said there is some new sealing technology where it meets the tailgate that might be a little better on the MX4. It lists at $899 and he offered it to me at $809 for a weekend special price. I'm thinking maybe I can haggle a little more on it. Anyone else have one of these, and would you recommend it? Thanks a lot! GMCnoob
