Best leveling coilovers/UCA with stock rims
TEXAG14Denali replied to TEXAG14Denali's topic in Modifications & Accessories
So I've had the kit for a few weeks. I have driven it over all terrains from very extreme to my daily commute and I would say the only time I ever noticed these being better than my Bilsteins were at high speed Offroad and jumping. I haven't found a setting yet but someone told me today to set the rear softer than the front so I might try that. Has anyone done this or does anyone have a setting strategy to try? If anyone is considering these I might try the icons if you drive on the street for more than 80%. I'm not giving up on them however because I'm still hoping I find a nice street setting for all 4 corners that I really like. Yes I'm probably being picky but for the price I paid I was expecting a ride as smooth as my buddies diesel with kings(carli). Also just an update I still have not removed the perch. I'll keep y'all updated and try to figure out how to post pictures. Any suggestions or comments are always appreciated! Thanks -

I can't figure out how to upload pictures from my phone. I got 275/60/20 terra grapplers and I am very happy with them and how they look. The truck sits very level and looks really good. I did not have them cut the perch and when I am driving on the highway and hit a bump that causes the truck to jump up and the front tires droop down I can hear and feel the UCA hit the perch. I am now leaning towards cutting the perch but I also plan on being pretty rough on this system and I know you guys have said by cutting the perch it can cause over droop and that can damage the system. I had a strut over extend on my last truck and when I landed I was nose down and on impact it caused the shock piston to bend out of the shock housing which was not good. Can anyone provide a part number on limiting straps or bump stops or anything else to fix this that I could buy? Thanks -

I got my truck back and it sits level and looks very good. I have been trying to adjust the Kings to a setting that I like. I haven't gotten a chance to drive that muh since I got my truck back but I will this week. Initial impression is not really much different than my Bilsteins but I hope it's just because I haven't driven enough to test them out. Here are some pictures. -

Ok awesome that makes me feel better. So you cannot adjust these while they're on the truck? -

So I got a call from the shop saying they have never seen coil overs that you can't adjust with a spanner wrench or the wrench it comes with because there is so much pressure on them. They said they will need to put the shocks in a press and adjust them like that. They also said they install kings every week and have never seen this. Just my luck. Any one else run into this problem? -

Would leaving them be better for going airborn? Sorry for all the questions -

Yes I will post a detailed review of how they ride. They are the 2.5 all around with adjustable reservoirs. I will give Cognito a call this afternoon. Thanks again everyone for all the help! -

Ok good that's what I thought I just wanted to be sure. They should arrive today and will be installed sometime this week or weekend. I will post pictures when it's done. I am still undecided on what to do with the frame stop but I'm leaning towards leaving it for when I do push the system to its limits nothing breaks. If I am reading yalls comments correct leaving the frame as is would be playing it safe? Is that correct? -

Sierra your truck looks awesome. I'm gonna put mine at 3" hopefully it sits like that. Not exactly sure what to look for to see if it has magna ride or not. Swapped out the ranchos with bilsteins no problem so I am guessing I don't have the magna ride. -

Can anyone back up that I don't have magna ride and these shocks I just bought will work for my truck? Thanks -

My Denali is a 2014 so I was under the impression they don't have the magnetic ride control until 2015. Please confirm
