So it appears this situation has come to a head. Gm has agreed to give trade in assistance. Meaning, I will receive a full refund for my truck all the way up to the original Msrp towards a new truck. I am satisfied with this result. I plan on replacing my truck with a 2500hd diesel. I am not too happy with the roughly extra 12 grand I will be coughing up but nothing beats a diesel for towing resale value ect. I came out of a 2008 duramax that I purchased new and that truck NEVER did anything over the course of 8 years and 80k miles to cause any concern or any reason to visit a dealer. After which I sold that truck for 30 grand! For those who are having trouble with their trucks/dealers my advice is starting calling. Then call. Then call some more. Always remain diplomatic. I never cursed or raised my voice. It took 8 months to get this resolved with a shit ton of b.s.. missing camping trips. "Tow vehicle in the shop" Missed days at work. Hours on the phone at home/work. Nonsense paperwork ect. I still love gm trucks and cars but I think their dealers and executive's are stuck in 1970s with the way they conduct business. I've owed somewhere around 20 general motors vehicles 9 purchased new. This one is the first one that a major component had given me any trouble. That being said it didn't break down or leave me stranded. Deals not done yet. I'll let you all know how it works out.
