  1. I've had this issue since day one with my truck (2017 5.3L 6 speed). I had one TSB performed that slightly improved the issue (forget the TSB #, but it was software reprogramming, not the new fluid/fluid exchange TSB that's out for the 8-speeds). Otherwise have used a Range device on and off for a couple of years to help deal with the issue. No tune, although I have considered it. Just after I turned 100k miles this past January, I had one day where the transmission really acted up and a check engine light came on (I think it was P0741, TCC clutch performance or stuck off). I cleared the code with a ScanGauge, but the poor shifting continued and the CEL came back on. The dealer diagnosed the issue as the torque converter. They replaced it and the check engine light has been off since. Shifting returned to "normal" along with the fish bite issue. No different than the first 100k miles. This leads me to believe the engine/transmission tuning is the issue, and it eventually causes the torque converter to fail. Not the other way around. Based on this anecdotal evidence, getting a tune early on in ownership may avoid torque converter issues down the road. Hope this helps.
  2. I like the Rough Country rear bumper the most so far, it retains the corner steps, integrates the stock backup sensors, and works with the factory tow hitch. Plus it adds a couple of lights. https://www.cjponyparts.com/rough-country-rear-led-bumper-chevrolet-silverado-1500-2016-2018/p/10773/?year=2018&gclid=CjwKCAiAwJTjBRBhEiwA56V7qxDhUodpI42VkGOiFhS98nOh8XizssiDU6PhQYJ4QfJo98BYSKjo0xoC9WIQAvD_BwE
  3. It's easy enough to search for pictures, but it would be nice to hear about people's experiences with customer service, shipping, actual in-person quality, installation, fit and finish, etc.
  4. I'm in the same boat, interested in what is out there.
  5. If it was remote started, there's a good chance the auto-defrost was turned on. Check your remote start settings on the truck and see if the box next to "defrost on startup" or whatever it says is checked.
  6. I've seen this issue over on the Toyota forums too, there were a few guys with 4Runners that had exploding rear windshields. I think in all cases it was the defroster shorting out somehow.
  7. Some good info here: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/198591-2017-gmc-sierra-1500-surge-hesitation-chuggle-misfire-feeling-with-a-light-tip-in/page-1
  8. It's definitely frustrating when you make an investment in a vehicle that fails to meet your expectations, but there are plenty of people with our trucks that have no driveability issues and are satisfied with their purchase. If you are not satisfied, I'd highly recommend returning to your dealer and having them take a look at it under warranty. Shit happens, and that's what the warranty is there for. FWIW, my 2017 Silverado with the 5.3 engine and 3.42 rear end exhibited these same symptoms under light throttle around 30 mph, starting at about 500 miles. Wasn't there on the extended test drive. GM said the trans was learning, so I waited it out. Things improved marginally after a few thousand miles, but then I had the TSB mentioned earlier in this thread done and drove it for another few thousand miles and now the problem is resolved. Whether it was the trans learning or the TSB that helped, I am not sure.
  9. First post here, just picked up a 2017 Silverado 1500 Double Cab LT Z71. I traded in my 2005 Toyota 4Runner Sport, which was lifted 3" with quite a few other mods. The 4Runner treated me well and went wherever I needed it to go, but was getting up there in miles (225k).
