  1. Thanks for the input, much appreciated!
  2. I did a search and couldn't find anything. Under the hood, in the spot that the second battery would go in a diesel truck, is a huge waste of space. I'm wondering if there's either an aftermarket or factory box that will fit in that spot? I like to carry spare belts and fluids and a rag and prefer to keep such items under the hood. 3. Mine just turned over 65k, I guess I need to get on that fluid change... Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  4. Replaced a door speaker in my '14. Finally something I actually want to tell the engineer that designed it, good job. Easiest door panel I've ever messed with. Usually I'm cursing the children's names of the dipstick that designed the part I'm trying to replace. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  5. I had no idea who it was, but this morning I met the owner of the Ford, and he said he was playing a gag on his buddy at work, and mistook my truck for his buddy's. There is another brown Chevy similar to mine, so the story may be true, or he's full of it. If it happens again he'll have 4 flat tires with no valve cores... Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  6. Resisted doing something malicious to this jackwad. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  7. First pics are in Sunshine on the Parks highway, the next ones are just off the Johansen in Fairbanks. I used to live in Fairbanks and am very familiar with the highways up there, beautiful country. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  8. Did you install the dash cam before or after the accident? I had 3 close calls in one week so I bought one, now I hardly ever have close calls. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  9. Oh yeah! Forgot I have a heat gun! Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  10. I guess I'll stop by the auto parts store tomorrow. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  11. I used goof off and a plastic scraper and the badges came off easily enough, but it seemed to have no effect on the 4x4 sticker. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  12. Debadged it. Had trouble with the "4x4" sticker on the bedside so now they look like crap until I can work at them some more. Anyone have tips for those? Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  13. Took these this summer, first is a shot from a camping trip in the high country in Montana in June. Next is my road trip camp setup, I call it the Conestoga pickup. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  14. Just a hiking trip, too early still for deer around here. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  15. It actually belongs to my neighbor, and he runs a business where he builds them. He lets me borrow it as much as I like, says it's free advertising for him. The roof top tent is made by Tepui, it's got an awning, slide out kitchen, tankless water heater, 30 gallon water tank, a filter system so you can pump and clean stream or lake water, a shower, and a massive cargo hold. Also, it's powered by solar energy. http://www.borderlandtrailers.com/ Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  16. Went camping in the high Uintah mountains of Utah over the weekend, and this happened. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  17. Oooh you got one of them pretty green ones, I looked and looked for ages to find one but they're rarer than hens teeth out seems. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  18. The wiring for the third brake light goes down through the driver side tube, and the aftermarket lights can do the very same thing, GM made a provision for them. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  19. 2014 All-Star edition (basically convenience package plus chrome) with most of the chrome removed and a few things added.
  20. The trick for the roll, I discovered, was to not roll it tightly, but to leave it loose so that I could squish it under the bar. Then it rolls up all the way no problems. I probably will only roll up the cover fully once or twice a year, mostly for firewood in the fall and hauling kids through the campground to the swimming hole, otherwise it'll stay shut.
  21. A few of the fitment issues I dealt with: First, the rail needs to be cut to clearance around the roll bar, and OBVIOUSLY I'm not done yet, I'm going to paint the exposed metal and fill in the gap with silicone caulk. Second, the front mounts of the roll bar interfere with the cover rails, but I loosened the bolts holding the bar down and clamped down real hard (actually I sat on the bar) and retightened the bolts after the rail was installed. If I were to do this again, I would wait to install the bar until I had both the bar and the cover, install the cover first, cutting the rails for the bar supports, also cutting the foam tape on the front mounts before doing the final install of both. Third, the roll gets a little big to fit properly underneath the support bars.
  22. Turns out I accidentally ordered the wrong cover, got one for the 5 foot bed, I've got the 6'6" bed. But summit showed me why I keep ordering from them for goodies for my trucks, they return shipped it on their dime and a full refund on the wrong cover and sent out the correct cover, a full week before the estimated ship date. So now I have the correct cover installed, but a thunderstorm rolled in so pics will wait until tomorrow. It's a bit of a squeeze, but the cover will fully roll up. I especially like how low profile it is.
  23. Installed the bar with a couple superbrightleds 12" light bars, but I ran out of time to wire them up and I'll install the cover tomorrow. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  24. I'm about to purchase the Revolver X2 but then read this. How bad is the scraping? Is it just a matter of wiggling it about some or does it require significant force? Also, did any of your tricks work?
