The one you should change out is the flat switch on the valve body or at least get some electrical cleaner and clean out all the clutch material thats built up on the plungers ...its a 8mm and 10mm socket. Onnce the bolts are removed lay your hand flat on the switch and twist it to remove it . If any of the rubber orings stick tonthe vslve body replace the switch. The dealership should have them for about 40.00. Then reattach it and all 5 bolts are 8ft lbs torque. Or hand tight with a half a ratchet turn
  2. If the 4l60e is blowing up its because most people push it beyond what its designed for by the manufacturer. People stick big tires on or heavy duty bumper an big lifts and tow big boats or heavy trailers and then complain its the transmission that sucks when if they would tske the time to read the limits in their manuals it would save alot of “blown trannys”. Im not saying the 60 is not without its design flaws and other issues but overall theyre good transmissions and will last a long time if taken care of properly.
