  1. I should have posted this a year ago but better late than never. After filing for a lemon law buy back and BBB claim, Chevorlet finally fixed my Tahoe. They added some panels to stiffen the roof. They removed the soundproofing and I think it was 4 panels they gloved up there. Chevorlet sent an engineer to my dealership to do the work. I didn’t get to talk with him but the service manager at my dealership said Chevorlet was adding these panels to the new 2018 Tahoes.
  2. I made mine with a 2x4 and foam weather stripping. It helped with the buffeting and ear discomfort so now I plan to build a better-looking one.
  3. Thanks, Frank. I plan to build mine next week when my cross rails arrive.
  4. Frank, I ordered two cross bars so I can try your fix. Can you provide a picture of the fabricated spacers and/or a link to the hard rubber stock you bought?
  5. Very interesting. Can you post pictures of these spacers and where you put them?
  6. yes, all windows and sunroof completely closed.
  7. SierraMyst, Thanks for the good advice. I did test drive it with the tech before the first repair but not since. Maybe I should do so again. Good to know that I can take it to any dealership. My customer service rep told me that my "back buy was denied at this time" because I brought it to a different dealership than the one where I bought it. I purchased the Tahoe at a dealership 3 hours away because they sold it 9k off MSRP and no dealership nearby could come close. I think I'll bring it to another nearby dealership when I return from my trip.
  8. Two months ago I bought a new 2017 Tahoe that has this issue (buffeting and booming that causes ear pressure). I've taken it to my local Chevy dealership twice now. First time they removed the headliner and saw that the roof wasn't glued to one of the cross bars so they fixed that. I brought it back a second time because the buffeting and booming was still there. The service manager said he test drove it and found nothing wrong. He said the car feels normal to him and another mechanic. He said he has never had anyone else claim this problem. I brought the car back for a third time today but the service manager said they won't even look at it. I know that I have to give them 3 chances to fix the issue before I file for lemon law buy back. The Tahoe will sit at the dealership for the next 10 days while I'm out of town for work. Here's what my very helpful Chevrolet Customer Assistance Rep had to say about my situation today: "At this time, the dealer isn't going to make any repairs to the vehicle because they don't find anything wrong. Being that we're not technically inclined here at Customer Service, we're at a standstill due to the dealer being the eyes and the ears for us and them not able to proceed further because there isn't an issue present at this time." Anyone have any advice? Can I start the Lemon Law buy back process or must they actually attempt to fix something?
