If you use the button signal to trigger the relay already in place for your trailer reverse lights then you can tap into the trailer reverse light circuit to power lights on the trailer and in the bed of the truck. Most trailers don’t have reverse lights so that circuit works well for trailer work lights. You can just tap into the trailer plug (truck side) for use on cargo lights, area lights etc.- 473 replies

Another cheap option we use sometimes backing empty to see the trailer is those yellow balls on a magnetic telescoping rod from Harbor Freight. They’re meant for help aligning the ball to the tounge but we just put them on the tail lights to provide visibility of the rear corners. You could put a couple of dog collar LEDs on the balls for backing your trailer in the dark.- 473 replies

If you use a 7way plug you already have reverse light power going back there. I added oval white reverse lights to my car hauler and it works great. Having those stay lit while loading is great. I can accomplish this through my Warn winch but just having a circuit on the dash would be much more efficient.- 473 replies

Rear fogs is something I’m definitely interested in. I’ve also considered using that for activating trailer work lights by accessing the trailer reverse circuit.- 473 replies

That one was from eBay, likely a mistake GM made and decided to change the final product selling what they had produced to a reseller. Reseller maybe paid $5/ea. and sold for $28 ea. still a great deal.- 473 replies

I’ll bet that’s why we got them so cheap...GM probably decided that there needed to be a more pronounced difference between the two buttons. A microscopic arrow will definitely help decern between the two bouncing down the road at 50.- 473 replies

I’d like to see them, I’m also working on one for the AUX switch setup, several variants and lots of time. I posted this for the headlight switch mainly though.- 473 replies

Have you seen the Michael J Fox Edition Sierra/Silverado rolling down the road? Looks like the Toyota from Back to the Future. Anyway there is a really cool headlight switch with the option for Off-Road lights. Apparently with a long push of the button the BCM will latch the signal and provide a constant positive signal for triggering a relay. It will also illuminate the icon on the switch as well as send a signal to the cluster illuminating an amber light icon next to the fog light icon or “ORL” in amber. I successfully installed this in my wife’s ‘16 2500 Denali yesterday but from what I’ve read it’s the same for 1/2 tons, HDs, and Colorado/Canyon. The BCM already has Programing for this from the factory but I’m not sure when (how early) it was started. I have a ‘15 3500 that I’ll try soon as well as a friend’s ‘17 2500 to do soon. If the Programing hasn’t been done in my ‘15 I’ll still be able to get the switch to illuminate as well as latch a signal for positive or negative relay signaling using a latching relay. There are several variants of this switch. Some have blue background for ‘17+Up model years and red for ‘16+earlier. Additionally some have the ORL switch without Fogs, and some have no surround backlighting. Here is the video from yesterday’s install..... ......More videos to come for other uses like work lights, incorporating into the X50A, rear facing lights, non programmed trucks..... Pgamboa has been very helpful in discussion about this as well as providing schematic-Thank You!

Here’s another idea I was thinking about for the air horn.....if you use a latching relay on the momentary switch you can run your factory horn trigger through the latching relay. Run it to the “com” or common circuit. Then out of the “Nc” or normally closed circuit back along its normal path to your horn. It will still operate normally when the latching relay is inactive or not engaged/latched. Then run your air horn trigger wire out of “no” or normally open out to the air horn relay. Next run the wire from your momentary button or in this case CNG (pin 4 on X2 connector) to the trigger for the latching relay. Now when you want to use your air horn like in rush hour traffic just hit your CNG button once activating your latching relay and every time you press the horn button on your steering wheel the air horn will alert the dingy that a larger vessel is quickly approaching their stern.

Hi there, I believe the X2 connector on a gas truck is for the option for adding CNG. I’m not certain which connector a PTO would use either. For the CNG button it will use pin 4 on the X2.

Heated steering wheel

Just think of it as a huge mood ring. You can express your mood through the button in the center, the truck can alert you to it’s mood by being warmer or colder to you and, in rare occasions, punch you if you stuff the bumper into the truck in front of you. ?? -

Here are the part numbers for the terminals for the S48A switch panel connectors X1 & X2. This will save some cash.?
