  1. High pressure fuel pump under the intake manifold. There's a big thread about it in this forum. I have the same issue. Going to dealer with info from that thread. The sound from the pump reverberates through the back of the engine, down the bellhousing. I traced the sound the same as you.
  2. 2017 1500 LT. OEM ride height. Tow a horse trailer now and then, and smaller trailers. Thinking a rear stabilizer bar might help with the towing duty, besides a little handling boost. Only thing I found was a Hellwig kit for 500; not interested in spending that kind of money on a rear swaybar. Anyone offer some tech or name brand suggestions that won't break the bank. Thanks.
  3. Rockauto had a Raybestos Element3 pad/rotor package, so I went with that. I have mileage remaining on the OEM brakes, so I expect replacement within a few thousand miles. Just a quick eyeball of pad material indicated it was good but getting closer to replacement time. Fun, gotta do dampers and brakes nearly at the same time.
  4. K, thanks. Read something about the 5100s creating a clunk due to thread bottom out. Been there before. The Ranchos on my truck have slowly been on the way out. Received a full set of 4600s, and excited to see what kind of improvement they make.
  5. Approaching 60k; 2017 1500 LT doesn't need new pads yet, but getting close. I'm toggling between the police semi-metallic, or the Raybestos Element3 hybrid pads. The semi-metallics may provide better stopping, but I'm not looking forward to possible squeal or more dust. Then I found some reviews on the Element3 pads that were very interesting. Anyone here use the Element3 pads?
  6. Done work like this many times over, but I'd like to know if there are any tricks or tweaks during the install. I presume I'll have to take the front struts somewhere to swap the springs for me. The last truck, a 2011, had front springs so stiff the DIY tools were not safe, so I took it somewhere to use the pro compressor. Thanks.
  7. Bought the Silverado LT, 5.3 in 2019, when it had 12,500 on it. It had a chirping sound at idle, sounded like, chirp..........chirp..........chirp as it was idling. Thought it was the belt or an idler pulley. Dealer shop said the thermostat was the culprit, replaced it, sound briefly abated. Started again, took it back in, they said they couldn't hear it. Has not affected the truck in any way, and I now have 58k on it. Chirping is still there at idle, just more obvious. Anyone have a simlar experience, and the cause?
