I got all the parts from GM dealers via eBay. The hooks are around $45 (new) the covers about $20 a piece. You can install them yourself but the bumper has to be removed and I’ve got enough projects going on so my dealership did it while my 2nd free oil change was getting done. Charged 1 hour labor, came out great they said they install them all the time.

It is a finishing piece to cover up the gap between the hook and the bumper. I found that without it I heard a whistling sound at high speed. Since adding that access cover, no whistling.

Not for looks I need functioning tow hooks in case my 2wd is on a slippery boat ramp.. should’ve got a 4x4 comments: I know.

I tried and I can’t even get the existing covers removed due to clearance, that’s one of the reasons I’m just gonna have the dealer do it. They said it’s 1 hour shop time. They do have step by step directions for this type of work I assume. I saw on another thread someone was posting steps but they didn’t look complete. I’m surprised this isn’t a little more common of a task so far.

Hi. I want to add the OEM tow hooks and all related parts to my SLT (that came with covers only) and I’m getting all the parts I need. So far I have: Tow Hook Package: Part # 84072463 Tow Hook Covers: Part # 23243485 (right) Part # 23243484 (left) Access Cover: Part # 23199123 Since the hardware required comes with the tow hook package and reusing some bolts from the existing setup, I think this is everything I need. Can anyone confirm? Also it looks like I need to remove the grille and bumper to do this ( my local Chevy GMC Buick dealer is going to do the work. I’ve searched and haven’t found this exact scenario yet. Thanks everyone for your help.
