Recently purchased a 2014 GMC 3500 crew, long box ,dually and the PO deleted the truck and i am wanting to go back to stock. all the egr coolers , down pipes are still in place so just looking for the DPF and CAT. i am wondering if a DPF and CAT from a 15-16 LML will work on the previous gen 11-14 LML body style? does anyone have any experience with this? i know for sure in late 15 the CAT has a 3 bolt flange that connect to the downpipe and the 11-14 has a band clamp. i have a guy willing to give me his DPF and CAT but like i said it's form a 2015 body style...His 15 is an early production model so i am lucky that it has the band clamp on the CAT that hooks up to the down pipe. my main concern is the programming and sensors if they will work with my 14? any and all info would be appreciated.
hi folks, i have a 2014 gmc 3500HD long box 6.6 LML that has been deleted from the previous owner. I am scrambling around looking for a 2011-14 DPF and catalytic converter for my truck and was wondering if anyone knows if the 2015-16 LML emissions will work on the previous GEN body style? i know the down pipe on the 11-14 has a clamp on flange for the turbo and the 15-16 has a 3 bolt flange. this can be fix by way of changing out the down pipe ( would rather not) however mostly wondering about the system functioning as it should. thanks
Hello, i am planing on getting a leveling kit for my 2018 GMC 2500HD 6.6 for those of you who have a leveling kit installed which one did you go with and why? i am looking at one of these systems. 1. cognito Item #: 110-90768 2. ready lift item # 66-3012 3. suspension maxx item # SMX-GM-HD-STAGE1 what i am am mostly wondering and concerned about is the ride quality and axle/ball joint angles after the installation. also if anything else any of you members have noticed after that fact that you were not satisfied with please share. also I've watched different youtube videos of some brands showing the UCA making contact with the factory droop stops. i definitely want to steer clear of these problems... thank you in advance
well from what i can tell it is the spring. when the shift lever is in P and i pull on the lever to put it into a gear it is very sloppy/loose. Most noticeable when in P as it kind of just flings forward and back with a light touch with a finger. it dosn't seem to be binding now when i try to put it in R from P or R from N however the sloppiness started soon after the binding went away. anything else i can look for? the spring doesn't seem broken but i cant tell for sure. do you have a pic of a shift control assembly just so i can confirm what we are exactly talking about? seems like the scrap yards only sell the columns as a whole unit only. can i change this control assembly with out removing the whole column? if so maybe i can just order a new part Vs replacing the whole column thanks
Hi, i crawled underneath the truck and looks like the cable seems to be functioning as it should, i took the cover of the column and inspected the column shifter. it appears to me that the "yellow" spring ( please see pic) has collapsed/broke as the shifter kinda dangles when you pull on it. is this spring replaceable? i am pretty sure this is the culprit as this spring compresses the most when shifting in and out of R PS this is not my vehicle in pic - its from a you tube video lol thanks
enthusiast, thank you for replying! any info on how/where to start taking things apart? i am not doubting you at all however is there anyway for me to tell that this is what needs replacing? juts wan tto make sure that i is not something else after i take it apart. i have no garage and its super cold outside here in Alberta lol thank you in advance.
hello, not sure if this is the right forum or not? i have a 2008 yukon denali Xl 6.2 AWD so please let me know if i need to move this topic elsewhere and let me know where to find the appropriate forum. yesterday i felt some resistance in the column shifter and it happened suddenly. i only seem to feel the resistance from P to D only going past R and form D to P that same thing. when trying to get past R from D i have to pull really hard on the shifter towards me and it slips into P but with great persistence. seems really dry if you know what i mean? has anyone experience the same thing? if so can anyone tell me where to start looking to fix the problem or what might potentially cause this Resistance? is it possible a bearing or some kind of bushing in the column needs some grease? or perhaps it is something to do with the linkage to the trans/transfer case? thank you in advance
Hello, i have a 2018 GMC 2500Hd 6.6 equipped with HID head lights. i am finding these lights to be very poor quality. i cant see anything at night when i am driving. event he HIGH beams are no better than the LOW beams. i am shocked! is anyone else experiencing the same problem? my buddy has a 2017 chevy high country and his lights are amazing. his are a yellow OLD school type color and mine are a new blue/white looking color. my question i swap out the bulbs for a different color or is it more complicated than that?
yeah like really guys come on now! i didn't realize that there was a 2500hd forum and a 1500hd forum. i will try to find the mens (2500) forum and let you BOYS/KIDS battle it out on the 1500 forum... also can you two show me where the 2500 form is? it says 2014-2018 silverado and sierra! it only referrers to HD or Sierra for 2019-2020 year models... thank you fellow members for positive responses cheers
i bought the truck new last year. it is indeed a blue-ish to white color. they are not yellow or even close to being yellow at all. my buddies chevy has the yellow OLD school color lights and this is what i am looking for. i will have a look at the website - thanks
